SpaceX Super Heavy Landing Just Shocked Nasa Scientists! Never Seen It Before...
Without a doubt, the moment Booster 11 decelerates and gently kisses the ocean is the best scene we've seen in Starship test flights to date.
This is the first time SpaceX has achieved this with a vehicle of such scale. Wow, that's amazing, Nasa scientists are completely shocked by that.
Find out everything in today's episode of Techmap.
(SpaceX’s footage)
Not only did Starship reach Orbit and the Superheavy Booster successfully landed in the ocean, but Starship survived re-entry and also managed to land in the Ocean as planned.
Yeah! Huge Congratulations to Elon and the Fantastic SpaceX team.
These amazing things clear the way for Flight 5's launch window early next month as Elon predicted.
SpaceX Super Heavy Landing Just Shocked Nasa Scientists! Never Seen It Before...
"The next Starship Launch hopefully in about a month." (0:00 - 0:09)
To celebrate one of these historic milestones, SpaceX recently showed off footage from another angle of the booster landing in the Gulf of Mexico.
It started at around 2-kilometer altitude when Super Heavy was on the threshold of reaching the dense atmosphere. The booster continued to get much lower, then at 1-kilometer altitude, it ignited the engines for a landing burn which helped to slow the booster and orient it nearly perfectly vertically.
SpaceX Super Heavy Landing Just Shocked Nasa Scientists! Never Seen It Before...
At its maximum thrust, it was pulling what looked like a little over 5g’s of deceleration to go through the clouds. It was then pretty much just hovering as it gently kissed the ocean. Unfortunately, the video ends right as the booster makes contact with the water so we don’t get a view of its graceful tipping over, and becoming a buoy bobbing in the ocean
Anyway, the footage reflects clearly that SpaceX basically managed to catch the Super Heavy by a virtual catch tower. It totally meets their main goal for the June test.

How do I feel when I watch this video? Bloody A.I. channel. Block, block, block.
At least, I still have you here now 🤩🤩🤩
Why do they always say "NASA SHOCKED"!!! NASA has some of the very best Scientists and Engineer's on the planet!
It's to get around YT algorithms to increase clicks, it means nothing in reality
Were Boeing more money we’ll fix it. I mean it’s just doors falling of the 737?
I think this group of Boeing is not explaining how engineering works. Most vessel have to develop procedure during real operation of the spacecraft. There is no failure unless the spacecraft blows up or cause a mishap. Simulation is fine but hard telemetry on pitch, roll, yaw, braking, turning and etc are exercise to record the data. TEST PILOT is a job title. This was written by non STEM snowflakes.
They should have conducted uncrewed test several times before putting people aboard like the way SpaceX did
They're not gonna be convinced until they get people killed on that thing, Scrapliner!
Nasa likes to risk astronauts on the bullshit Starliner rather than risk Dragon on the Hubble rescue mission. Nasa has lost its mind
“worser”?
Could u please correct me 😝?
After WWII, the U.S. had the of thousands of engineers. Those were slide rule wielding chain smoking coffee guzzling guys who also had geniuses for bosses. Liberals made sure these guys were put out to pasture as they gained influence.
Thanks for sharing
English is obviously not your first language is it?
Can u guess
If it can do all that then why not just launch and land like a airplane?
I think you missed the whole point
NASA have to take important decision to stop to use shit from Boeing before that’s kill Astronaut !
Nasa likes to risk astronauts on the bullshit Starliner rather than risk Dragon on the Hubble rescue mission. Nasa has lost its mind
If we're already having too many issues before starliner even reached the ISS, it's better to fly the rest of the mission uncrewed. Having the thrusters fail with the crew stranded in orbit is the worst case scenario and a bad way to die.
absolutely
Poor decisions yield poor results. There's no getting around it.
Nasa is still obsessed with the "go-fever" back in the shuttle era.
NASA better not let those astronauts return in that thing. They are gambling with lives. Apparently Boeing is too incompetent to build a reliable spacecraft. NASA is still as irresponsible as they were with the Space Shuttle when they sent astronauts to their deaths so NASA could say they didn't have to postpone another launch. If they loose these people NASA administrators should be held criminally liable.
Nasa likes to risk astronauts on the bullshit Starliner rather than risk Dragon on the Hubble rescue mission. Nasa has lost its mind
Corporate culture in the USA is not the same as 60 years ago. Generations of profit maximizing management with little to no background in engineering has made the Morton Thiokols and Boeings of the past what they are today. Focused more on money than on mission. I predict that the USA will never return successfully to the moon. We should stop now before someone gets hurt really badly.
It's true. Thanks for sharing your thought
What planet? It barely makes orbit. Too many bureaucrats involved. Some are called managers. Too few doers involved. It's always the internal blockages that screw up the project.
NASA let Columbia try reentry with a known problem . . . and it broke up and scattered shuttle and body (ashes, really) parts all over the southwest. DON'T DO IT AGAIN! send a Dragon up to get the two astros . . . then terminate the boeing contract and sue for breach and the cost of the Dragon mission.
Why is space x not showing the booster falling over into the water I bet it blew up
I think space x have this clip but they don't show it.
It did not blow up because you can see it gradually tip over in the rest of video.
"The O-Rings on the SRB's have never launched in this cold! We had partial burn through in warmer temperatures on previous flights!" "SHUT UP! Take off your engineers hat and put on your managers hat!" Foam strikes the wing on Columbia "Don't worry! Its only foam!" Now this thruster problem! "Oh! It can leak 100 times as much and it will be safe!" I'm waiting for "The rocket might blow up on launch!" "Who cares!? We now have an LES! Launch anyway!"
NASA is talking about how bad the leak can get be before risk. Wow. That’s not real comforting.
Space X is so much better and less than 1/2 price. They can also make and implement design changes in weeks, not years. Why are we still throwing money down the Boeing money hole?
Lobbyists.
Too bad politics will drive the certification process. Boeing has lost it's edge and I don't trust anything they make anymore.
Deathliner's issues never seem to end.
"Deathliner" LOL
At this stage the loss of any engine is extremely important. You have to consider that this was not a loaded or fuel loaded rocket to be delivered in orbit. When you add the weight of those items the lost of a single engine may be a critical issue.
Agree.. This approach is not practical to have starship try to land with cargo for mars or moon. a break away lander simply makes far more sense.
Who gives a crap what it looks like. Those Astronauts want to get back to earth alive. If their best chance for that is SpaceX than just do it.
So sad! Shame on NASA! Shame on Boeing!
Poor astronauts
Boy I hope you’re all wrong and Butch and Sunny make it home safe. But a also feel your concerns. Crossing fingers in not sound engineering but if it could help I’ll cross everything in have.
I also hope that I was wrong, bro
They make a big deal about the one raptor did not ignite at take off! It didn’t stop the flight! How many rocket engines are failing on the Boeing capsule! For NASA, Boeing good! SpaceX bad!
This is why the Challenger disintegrated back in 1986 due to NASA managers stupid decision making on a cold January day.
😫😫😫
This confirms that there was no way we ever landed on the moon in 1969. What a fraud that was.
Just click bate
The Starliner has so many problems... You know, it was designed to go to the Moon - YET doesn't even have the abilities of the old Apollo spacecraft in terms of flight performance. Starliner is a complete disaster.
It's more disastrous when we put astronauts on it
Where's the detailed report on the Starship's landing ?
It's produced by Boeing - that's the issue.
Not by engineers!
To be safe, they need to bring the people home in a proven system, a Dragon. Then the Starliner can be brought back and that will determine if the problems would have been deadly to the crew.
Returning on Dragon would be the safest thing to do now.
Can’t fix the raptor engines until they start getting them back.
do u know why?
I hope SpaceX launches Starlink 3 sataillites first, before they try a catch the booster or Starship! Sending Starlink 3's is more important then completing a catch right now, and it will improve thier bottom line because of the faster internet speeds! They can also use the booster to launch satellites in orbit to the Moon, for communications! Also at L1, L2, L3, and L4, building the systen for unlimited communications to Mars
one more view, thanks
Absolutely fascinating.
That would be absolutely hilarious if Elon landed a Falcon 9 heavy on NASA's launch pad ,, unscathed.
Scientist around the world are getting thier payloads ready for a Launch! Reporting for duty!
Lets just cut the crap, we all know what the problem is, it is CALLED Boeing has LOST its edge in the space industry like they are falling apart in the aerospace arena.
Nasa likes to risk astronauts on the bullshit Starliner rather than risk Dragon on the Hubble rescue mission. Nasa has lost its mind
I have no trust anymore in Boeing, after they have so many problems with their airplanes. The astronauts should decide, with what system they want to come back to earth, not the managers of Nasa.
So does Airbus, but they are conveniently covered-up and quietly solved.
Have SpaceX engineer fix Boeing's problem.
SpaceX can help if NASA & Boeing need
Maybe you should have Elon Team look at the problem, I'm sure they can figure out the issue
Yes! SpaceX can help if NASA & Boeing need
They would troubleshoot, redesign, manufacture, install and test the fix in the time that Boeing takes to take the access panels off. We need to stop feeding the Boeing beast and support organizations that produce. Boeing is all about process. Space X is all about results. That’s the $5B difference.
NASA is a short-term profit company. They will never, ever be able to compete with Elon musk
they are a state agency
I bet the toilet in that piece of shit cost us taxpayers 80 billion dollars And I bet 99.9% of that wound up into corrupt investment firm management and ceo's hands At 100% cost to taxpayers.
Nasa likes to risk astronauts on the bullshit Starliner rather than risk Dragon on the Hubble rescue mission. Nasa has lost its mind
It sounds like Boeing hired the CEO from General motors
NASA is actually owned and operated by Wall Street. What takes NASA 40 years of taxpayer funded corruption money to do ,, Elon Musk can do in 3 days at 0 cost to taxpayer's
That would be hilarious if Elon landed a Falcon 9 heavy on NASA's launch pad ,, unscathed 😂
This whole thing is a woke leftie power show. No wonder it’s failing.
😪😪😪
Boeing: "Trust us." Which they also said about MCAS. What a disgrace. I'd love to know what the two astronauts say in private about the spacecraft.
I will find more about this
