I'm a big fan of Dr. Feser for his clarity as a principal exponent of these arguments, even as I demur about some of them... It seems perhaps an unnecessary medieval mystification to say things in existence require an ontological hierarchical chain of supporting entities up to the First Mover (speaking hierarchically and not sequentially). I am not exactly sure why things in existence require other things to sustain them in existence, though I probably need to reread that part of his argument again. There is also the problem of the quantum foam, which I continue to think gainsays his main argument that only God could be the pure essence that exists, the uncaused actualizer. So too could the quantum foam be.
Well aren't they now giving up all of those buildings?
Thank you for your service to the church Sister RSM
I was in the seminary in the late 70s. Fred ran the kitchen and we ate very well. Saturday was often (or always?) steak night. This was the first place I ever had scrapple. God bless Mother Overbrook.
Great lecture, enjoyed it. Also, might be the best book plug i ever heard :D Genuinely laughed.
"In" suggests parts when Dr. Feser says that in God, there's something analogous to what we call "power."
A beautiful tribute! Many blessings to come.
So sad! Saint Charles was sold by one man! Charles Chaput and he had no right. None!
this is WONDERFUL...GOD BLESS
I am wrong, or is it that the ortodox crux
Nothing can separate us from the love of God. - Truth.
Lovely. I started to read "The Cloud" thirty years ago, and knew I wasn't ready. Perhaps---just _perhaps!_ ---I am now.
what happens if you think bad thoughts? does god collaborate with me too since he is the primary cause?
....and full advantage....
I was pleased to visit the Cathedral on a Sunday and have the opportunity to attend his evening mass. I followed the Archbishop although I belonged to the Erie Diocese. I appreciate his teachings and miss his presence. May he be blest to enjoy his retirement and continue to write. He is a wise and gentle teacher.

I remember those days. He was such a gift to us. My gosh, we could sure use him now cause the church is going downhill fast.

Glad to see Schlert's doing well. And I remember those displays in the back and their uninsurable contents.

I hope more priests follow in Fr. Nicanor's footsteps and go into the sciences. It's great to see holy men in these fields
His knowledge is unmatched I think. God bless him.
All of this will become hospital property in a few months and all religious imagery must be removed before then.
What will happen to the chapel when the seminary moves at the end of the year?
The chapel is currently closed and we are starting the process of removing items that are coming with us to the new campus. All sacred objects will be removed prior to our moving and Main Line Health taking possession of the Overbrook campus.
What a senseless tragedy! Shame on Charles Chaput and anyone who had their hands in this Judas deed.
