Talking with my father I'm talking with my father He's talking with his son And I don't need to look any further for the one I have become He says listen to that curlew That's a sound I love to hear It's a strange reflection that we look through Oh that finally finds us here In this place where life's heart thunders In this place where time holds still In this place of harmony and wonder And values not of gold fulfil I'm walking with my father Across these gentle Perth shire hills It's timeless mysteries that we gather To make the memories that we fill He says don't fix what is not broken No need to find what's not been lost It's a heavy gate we have to open And endless field we have to cross In this place where life's heart thunders In this place where time holds still In this place of harmony and wonder And values not of gold fulfil There will always be the brave one There'll be the one who turns away With all too many things left undone Oh and so much left to say I'm talking with my father He's talking with his son And I don't need to look any further for the one I have become In this place where life's heart thunders In this place where time holds still In this place of harmony and wonder And values not of gold fulfil (X 2)
A time for kindness A time for cruelty A time for tears A time for love A time to go A time to stand A time to run And a time to die Time never waits, Time always wins, But we can be brave And we can love with a full heart And use our time

Fantastic, Silvery morning. Fly, fly, fly. Thank you John.
Magic moments, this is one. Thank you John Tams and friends.a
My father and I have grown estranged in recent years. We're trying to grow closer but in case it doesn't work out, I hope when I grow up and have kids of my own, I want to buy us a house in the peaceful countryside and teach them about nature, music and the simpler things in life, that there's more to it than fame and money, that it's ok to slow down and take a break now and then. I know it sounds like a dream, but I hope I can make it possible.
A possible anthem for the Dartmoor Wild Camping Movement I'll just let you know. Yes this song is being talked about as a strong choice within the aforementioned movement as I write this.
Thank you.

This would be my "desert island" music. All of Kate's recordings. Plus, a 45-year old bottle of Scotch.

Shit hot 🔥 Christy Moore.
I worked with Ian, Derek and Hamish onstage at Dundee Rep in the early 70's. They were the best. Cheers Lads Tom Cotcher
Wow, just wow.
There was a time . . . but that was long ago and never will be again.
Brillant........
This cover of the Cyril Tawney classic is totally different to any other I have heard and, in my humble opinion, much more 'folky'. I LOVE it!.
Beautifully done.
The best song about Fathers and sons
Good night friend
Another great song from the wonderful tannahill Weavers. Love them as musicians and people. God bless everyone
This has to be one of the most beautiful songs I have heard. Personal to me, because it makes me think of my father I lost a year ago. I loved Runrig.
Now that's soldiering
My dad wrote this...
This is good, I'm learned it using the original sheet music by Cyril Tawney. The Cyril version is also on CZcams. It is if interest Cyril wrote about his time in the Navy serving in Malta. 'Call away the Dyso' refers to the 'Dghajsa' a horse drawn taxi. 'Inetuffeya bay' is 'Ghaja Tuffhaja bay' holiday makers know it as 'Golden Bay. Reminds me of 1963 to 1965 serving in the Army in Malta. Give Cyril a listen he wrote some great stuff.
Beautiful song lyric please
Followed them for many a year...they were brilliant! :)
SANTA's helper is asking for help to find a home for a family this Christmas telepathic brothers are now out for Christmas looking for a home for the homeless
