Crisis in the Geopolitics of MENA: The More Things Change, the More They Stay the Same
A year ago, the Middle East region was in a state of flux in certain ways, but seemed to be stabilising in others. Confrontation paradigms were giving way to what seemed to be de-escalation plans: Normalisation of relations between Saudi and Iran, and the widening of the Abraham Accords, among others. October 7 upended all of that - or did it? Dr HA Hellyer will examine how things have changed - and how, indeed, they’ve stayed the same.

Gulf Monarchies after the Arab Spring

Middle East can be a peaceful region as long as US government behaves sensibly and refrains from stirring internal problems. One of the key things the US government can do for the sake of peace in the Middle-east as well as other parts of the world is NOT to sell military weapons and military technology to other countries. Can US government do that? Obviously and deliberately NO. Why? US government has no interest at all to witness the world at peace despite the usual cliche such as "United States is committed to defending democracy and the free world to ensure peace......blah, blah, blah" uttered by many key American politicians including Presidents; Secretaries of State; etc Very often, American government and its undisciplined media would not hesitate to create LIES and stir internal trouble to justify United States intervention, covert and /or overt. For example, US government continuously smears China to justify the creation of AUKUS; to justify establishment of NATO presence in Asia; etc. Unfortunately Asia has Eunuch-like governments of Japan under PM Kishida; of South Korea under President Yoon and of Philippines under President Marcos. The decisions of these three Eunuch-like Asian Heads of State in toeing the US government's line will bring trouble to Asia. US government is definitely eyeing Thailand as its next sphere of influence. Asia is under Threat and the Threat is United States of America.

Thanks for this news and offering your insight on how to navigate during unfortunate times/events like this. You're right about keeping level headed when investing so that's why I think it's important to limit the amount of FUD we consume. I don't watch the media but the news that you present has enough to know issues going on without riding the emotional rollercoaster if I were to watch the news everyday.
