Sixteen years later and my heart still hurts for her so much that she had to go through a tough showing like this. You could see the fear in her throughout. Would have loved to see her have some great success with this program as it was a standout program at the time in this sport.

I would be absolutely just so depressed and drained out of my mind having to skate after a show like the one Yu-Na put on. Being able to do what Julia did here after what Yu-Na did is the sign of a true trooper.

Gorgeous. Floated across the ice. But for the toe at the end this was perfect. Elegant costume too.

Another great skate. So glad to have discovered this skater. I've always heard of him but only found him on youtube now. Love his crisp jumps and I remember buying this CD back in 1994. FANTASTIC music to skate to. If ever I skated, I'd have picked this music.

A boring skater.

Poor Kimmie. Horrendous technique, and yet no one talks about American coaches pushing girls to do 3axels with horrid technique when they are prepubescent. At least Kimmie earned a world title.... Her skating is awkward and terrible. Just sad to see. She should have retired after her 2006 Worlds win.

Tonya is in 1st place I'm proud of her she's definitely bringing home the gold medal her skating performance was fantastic and she did it without falling on the ice

Good for her for trying something unusual, and it was courageous of her coaches to have her perform this program at this young age. Reminds me a lot of those Angela Greenhow programs from the early 1980s, and it is too bad we never got to see her again at this level.

Idk, Why the hell people are hating about her OK, I wasn’t her best skate, but I really like her attuide =)!

He generally had a nice sense of style, but I personally never cared for Marylynn Gelderman’s choreography for either Michael or Kyoko Ina. She often did a nice job for Elaine Zayak, though.

Yeah, ridiculous judging regardless of the start order. The only deductions I would give are for the slight cheat on the second 3T, the footwork that was a little shallow and not particularly difficult, and the layback that was more of a quality issue than an error. Stiil, 5.5 or even 5.6 for technical merit would have been certainly justified. FWIW, I thought she should have been a solid 3rd in the short at the '99 Worlds.

Karen should have been sent to worlds over Susan. Susan going to the Olympics was fine but after her poor Olympic showing she should have been dropped from the World team for Karen. Karen would have won the bronze ahead of Szewcenko clearly at Worlds.

Yeah it's the score from Robin Hood when I was skating around this time alot of my friends were using it, I always begged my coach to use parts of it because it was so pretty , and dramatic.
