Good review! Love this series.
Strongly disagree with you here, while I do agree part 1 is the best, Scream 2 is an amazing sequel!
I enjoy this remake. The CGI is piss poor, and Freddy’s makeup looks awful, but Jackie did an amazing job.
I love this movie but yeah it’s definitely more of a Nightmare movie than F13th
This movie is a steaming pile of dog shit.
are you exicted for deadpool 3
Absolutely! I really love Deadpool hahah
i love the og i liked the second one but not as much
final destanation 2 had all practical 3 had cgi
2 absolutely had a lot of CGI kills, like the ladder, the circle thing, and the razor wire fence at the end lol
i rewatched the film it did have cgi
I like the premise. I'll check it out soon.
They’re great, man! I love amusement parks, so I figure 3 will still always be my favorite lol
@@strangemichaelhorror after BVS!
Yep love this series. I've seen these probably the most from any horror series since the original came out in the theater in 2000. Very creative, believable deathes before they get more elaborate and CGI heavy. Great cast of characters
Do you like Alien?
Agreed, man! They’re an absolute blast, and the creativity in behind each movie (even 4-the worst) is really impressive!
@@strangemichaelhorror Yes, even in 4, I really liked the car wash sequence and the escalator/mall explosion. Glad there's a new one supposed to come out next year even when FD 5 had a great finale.
@@kylekullin2520 Like the horror Alien series? Yes, more the 2nd movie, Aliens. The new one coming out looks awesome straight horror instead of the scifi Prometheus movies
@@blue525252 I'm excited for sure.
I love these movies so much
I do too! They rule, man! lol Thanks for watching!

"It's boring as shit". 😂😂😂
I really always thought it was 😂 it’s a very British movie series, and a lot of media like that bores me to tears lol
I was born in 68 and growing up in the 70s and 80s I saw a lot of horror films on VHS tape and I think that Hollywood has run out of ideas for the horror genre so they just keep repeating old horror films for the new generation in order to make a really good horror film directors need to sit down and think about what works and what don't work
Thanks for the testimony hahah. I don’t believe there are many new ideas to work with, either.
Hey Michael, Very disappointing...but then expected from the previews how slow and "CW" this movie would be. I'll definitely wait for streaming for this one. Great review
Hey, dude, thanks for watching! And yeah, it was way too much like a CW-style remake, which is sad for the good actress from Teen Wolf lol. Bummer. I hope you’ll enjoy it more than I did!
I'm a huge fan of the first 2 movies and if both Danny Boyle and Cillian Murphy are returning, then thats a massive positive imo. Just worried because there have been waaay to many sequels that have been massive letdowns in recent years. (Especially ones that come out after many, many years later) At the moment I'll just stay cautiously optimistic.
Yeah, agreed 100% with that sequel claim hahah. They’ve been horrible, recently, and I actually love most franchises. Hopefully the hardcore fans like yourself will love it.
Good review
Thanks, dude!

Old 80s horror gems like RATS! night of Terror! House and goolies and a few other less known horror movies of the 80s dnt get the cred and appreciation they deserve!
I actually never saw any of those, except for House! I need to check the rest of them out hahha. Thanks for watching!
Bad take bro, a long time ago there was a time when there were well written female characters that had an insane arc and had to then slay an unstoppable monster. Kris in part 3 puts an axe into the head of a psychopath killer that has haunted her life and killed new friends and her lover. Don’t u dare put part 3 at the bottom 😂🤪🤪. Cool content tho! The rest of the list works for me too. Haha love it
Hahaha come on, man, three sucks! Join the bandwagon! Thanks for watching!
whats your batman ranking
Probably: 1. Dark Knight 1.5 (if it counts) BVS 2. 89 3. Returns 4. Begins 5. Forever 6. & Robin 7. The Batman 8. Rises Haven’t seen the Adam West one (seen the show, though). Never finished watching either of the classic serials.
you didint like the 2022 batman
@@user-jo4vg3jk2z I thought it was really bland lol. I loved Pattinson and I loved the Nirvana song cover they used throughout it, but I thought Riddler ruined it, totally. I think Reeves will make a better sequel to it in the way Nolan made Dark Knight better than Begins, personally. Reeves is a great filmmaker, but I think the 2022 film was mostly a Nolan wannabe, and I don’t think enough people call it that lol.

@@strangemichaelhorror Batman 89 Batman Returns Batman Begins Batman Forever Batman v Superman The Batman Adam West Batman Dark Knight Dark Knight Rises Batman and Robin
I like The Dark Knight in Batman v Superman. It's Superman that's uninspired! Superman needs to be the epitome of Altruism. Clark Kent is a guy who will save a rambunctious cat. He's optimistic in a cynical world. Do you know what I mean?
I agree with you, but where I think we diverge is that I think Cavill’s Superman IS that, but in a modern world. He’s the most hope-filled character in that series, despite the dark, unforgiving world that anyone is stuck in, rich or poor-and the version of Bruce there, for me, really settles that.
@@strangemichaelhorror Maybe, I will have to rewatch it next week!
@@kylekullin2520 If you haven’t seen the Ultimate Edition, definitely watch that one hahah. It’s about three hours in total, but I think it really adds a lot, and I don’t even spend time on the theatrical cut, anymore lol.

@@abhninjas9796 I’m glad you’re digging it, dude!
Overhyped as heck for sure. Always a mehh for me. It definitely influenced an onlaught of low budget "films" for better or worse...emphasis on worse haha
Agreed, dude! I get why it has an audience and is considered iconic, to a small extent, but I don’t get the obsession with it lol. I also don’t understand why Hollywood thinks this is the film that makes sense turning into a franchise.
@strangemichaelhorror I know...at least it inspired other enjoyable found footage movies such as REC (the Jennifer Carpenter one in the firehouse) and Paranormal Activity (one or two I enjoyed before the entries went on and on, yearly even)
@@blue525252 don’t forget Hell House LLC-that’s a damned good one, too lol
Good ones: 4,6 Ok ones: 3,7, Freddy vs Jason, Remake TRASH 1,2,5,8,9,X
A lot of my friends absolutely hate this movie lol. I mean, fair enough but I really dont think its THAT bad tbh. That whole ending section in the house still gives me the chills to this day. I think there are WAAY better found footage movies, but I still enjoy this for what it is.
I can see the ending giving people chills, but I think the boring second act pretty much lulls me to sleep by the time it gets there lol. That’s a big flaw, for me, even though the film is fairly short.
@@strangemichaelhorror Yeah totally fair mate. I can understand it has its shortcomings.
Give it three stars; 😆
😂
I like this movie. I don’t think it’s good, but I have nostalgia for it. I was 10 or 11 when it came out and I have memories of watching the VHS with my Mom back then. We were some of the people that thought it was real at the time. It made it much scarier. Lol Nice review, God bless!
Hahaha that’s cool, man! It’s nice hearing from someone that thought it was real. There’s a lot of people that love this one, and I kind of get it. Thanks for watching, once again, and God bless!

Watched it last night on POV horror, quite enjoyed it though frustrating as I didn't get the ending ? What or who was he talking to ? I thought at one point he might have died and didn't realise, as their was literally no other person in the film, apart from his girlfriend on the phone to him.....or did he imagine it ?
Great review!
Thanks for watching, dude! Appreciate it!
@@strangemichaelhorror my pleasure! Keep up the hard work!
The Confederats being portrayed as vampires is so cliche!
Yeah, agreed! So obnoxious lol. I didn’t even expect them to go that route, because it was such a dumb idea lol.
I’d be amiss to say I enjoy this B-Movie, at least the concept and idea for it. It has that I Am Legend/I-Robot/World War Z/Daybreakers/Van Helsing/Pride Predjudice and Zombies cgi fest and that’s no fun. It’s an idea that is inherently dumb and played up like a farce, and judging what I know about production of all films - and particularly this film, studio meddling afflicted the vision which was closer to the book (which is better). Like Pride Prejudice and Zombies, studios apparently went deep on the source material to nerf it essentially, pride got it worse tbh. As a historian by education, I have a soft spot for historical horror fiction. Like The Apprentice from Darkside, and many others when it is there. They aren’t a popular genre, but seeing something like Cowboys Vs. Aliens or The Pale Door usually peaks my interests. I do see the problem with Seth Grahame Jones and others making things historically slighted, and problematic in the sense of a lack of transparency. Or even lack of knowledge- as in this case - as to the overarching factors that factored into motives of Civil War that could be linked but not exclusive to slavery that everyone seems to believe was the soul cause. But above all else - the oversimplification of something complex is inherently problematic in itself - which this movie can be considered in that way. I thought movie itself was a fun enough time to turn your brain off for - but it isn’t objectively good either. Funny that you mention The Asylum - they did rip this movie off believe it or not. Abraham Lincoln Vs. Zombies - and you see John Wilkes Booth - Lincoln’s assassinator - working with Lincoln lol. I think that movie will make your eyes bleed with the cgi there lol. Anyways great review Michael!
Bruh, I didn’t know you were a history guy, too! That’s cool! lol. Never heard you mention that before lol. Sorry, man, I don’t get the appeal with this movie and I like a lot of those other films you listed. I might try that book out sometime, if you say it’s better. This movie is such a shame, to me. Could’ve been so much better, in my opinion-the CGI fest and the swinging-the-axe-around-like-a-child-who-just-saw-Star-Wars thing is more annoying than I ever thought it would’ve been lol. Thanks for watching, pal!

Ehhhh.. Brian Fuller exited due to "creative differences"... must be a day ending in Y as often as that happens. Not saying that's a good sign but it is much more often a show gets made without him than with him.
That's fair hahah. That was also announced after I recorded this, a few days ago. Really hoping they get away from this show idea--just don't think it'll work out well hahah.
@@strangemichaelhorror from what I heard it was going to be more of an anthology series so it would jump around the timeline so we may see Pamela's backstory and we may see Jason. At least that's what I remember the pitch being..
@@mcgilj1 I’d be surprised if they’d be willing to do that with Friday, but it’s A24, so they could’ve tried anything lol
@@strangemichaelhorror I think that was from an interview with Fuller That might be why they showed him the door.
Christ what an ego on Stuckman 😂 I watched a little bit of the Trailer It looks like a cheap knock off of the Blair Witch Project I went to the site and literally laughed 250 $ for the DVD / Blu-Ray 😂😂 Found Footage is passe now
Yeah, it’s a bummer to see what’s happening with that, man hahah. I don’t know how fair the Blair Witch-style trailer is to what his actual film will be, because I’m assuming he’s making a linear film and not a found footage movie, but I could definitely be wrong. I want him to succeed, but I’d like it a lot if he was less shillish about it, you know? Loved watching him, all these years.
I does sem prudent to keep Friday 13th as a film franchise.
Yeah, and I really believe that. I don’t think it would ever work as a TV show, for most fans.
U talk to Cody Leech? He likes Derek Meyers too as his fav Jason too Your overall thoughts about fans (8:00) in general is seriously the best part of this review! And I luv this remake too!
Hey, man, Cody is alright. Used to watch him a lot, once upon a time lol. Derek Mears is the bomb-dude seems like such a kind person, and I’ve been a fan since his Jason movie. And thanks for watching!
Thanks for admitting about breaking bad. Many have no balls to say it wasn't all that perfect
Hahahah! I love the show deeply, but Skylar makes that final season so unwatchable. The final season dragged so much, man.
I like Tim Burton. Would you recommend?
If you liked a lot of Tim Burton animated stuff, you’ll probably like this one, too, I’d think. It’s a little weak on story, but the atmosphere and tension can be nice!
