Thanks for the video. At the end, you mentioned that this could theoretically be done as a double cylinder setup, then you said that would never be needed. I actually have an instance where I do need a double cylinder classroom deadbolt. Do you know if Kaba Ilco makes keyed cylinder that has the restricting pins that your thumb turn had?

When installing the dead bolt lock always have the bolt etended and no key in the lock and it will work right.

When I put a new battery in the LED turns on and stays on until it kills the battery. No noises are made when I turn the key or open the door.

Also hotels have to unlock these all the time because they tend to locked all by themselves sometimes when guests shut their door as they are leaving. Many of my guests lock themselves out this way on accident so we have to makeshift a tool like this to help open their doors.

How do I open the device to change battery?

Well damn, you took the lockset you were demonstrating on, off camera (at around 2 mins), and didn't show or explain what you were doing in order to remove the old spindle from the old deadbolt! I'm trying to replace my whole deadbolt set with a new electric one. But Apparently, there's some big trade secret no one will give upon on HOW TO RELEASE THE OLD SPINDLE FROM THE DEADBOLT! ARGH!!

Can this be installed on any type of door? Hollow core composite, solid core, solid MDF Core?

This is called a "swivel spindle", not to be confused with a split spindle, which is a two-piece spindle with a hook at one end, used in mortise entry sets with an exterior thumb latch and interior knob (or lever, less commonly).

can u please do a video on fire protectice vs fire resistive assemblies and typical scenarios when a sidelite or borrowed lite ( due to size ) cannot have fire protective rating and needa to be fire resistive astm e119 , which from my understanding is extremely expensive

i was under the impression you cannot apply trim on hm door or frame if its fire rated?

The spring broke in mine. Is this hinge still available? I'm have no luck finding one for my Peachtree door.

Wish there was another company that made these. Been using the 7512 for 20 years and would love to try a different hinge that may be better.
