Ladder Hitch
Great for making a ladder from rope and whatever materials you have at hand for rungs. Excellent for kids’ swings with an additional stopper knot (just to be sure 😍).

Clove hitch. Tied 2 different ways. Great (if a little slippy) knot to attach a point of attachment to the anchor point directly mid-beam, as it where, or to slide on at the end (you’ll see 👍)

A fun challenge for everyone, the 3 knot system as fast as you can...! No need to dress the knots, as long as they're accurate and correct of course :-)
Anchor Hitch

The Anchor Hitch, a simple knot sometimes used as part of a climbing system. You most likely won't need to know this for Climbing or Rescue assessments in Arboriculture but a useful knot to have in the arsenal! Thanks for requesting this knot v3124!

Thank you for your suggested combination knot. This could be improved imo… since learning knot tying is largely a visual activity, leave the talking out. There are exceptions for knot names or terms like pinch or double or perhaps making a suggestion of what application a knot is best suited for. I hope you consider this a positive comment.

I'm a certified arborist and I've been climbing trees for 22+ years while I understand that people love the Blake's hitch I absolutely despise it. Is not only messy ugly knot but it doesn't do anything that the two and two prussic doesn't do .

One twist and go through the loop will give you an overhand knot. Two twists and go through the loop will give you a figure eight. Three twists and go through the loop will give you this video's stopper knot. Sidenote, for another very effective stopper knot, look up Ashley's stopper knot aka Oysterman's knot. If you're good at tying a speed bowline, then you can adapt your skills to tying Ashley's very quickly

    • @davidwarren719

Hey Richard, I suppose an Alpine Butterfly would work too although may tighten a little when in use. Could also tie it mid-rope much easier than a bowline!
