Had 3 of these, 4040, 4440 and a 4640, they worked great on our 250 acre spud farm.

From what I remember, when you turned on the 4wd 30 horses immediately died, I think after these models jd went with mechanical 4wd.

Deere just released the new version of this called the X9. The CTS was an excellent machine back in the day.

I have an 820, beautiful German Tractor from JDeere, plus it's truly a work horse

These were a monster chopper when they were first introduced. I was just a kid and thought they were incredible

This isn't the class 10 prototype...this is the original CTS design Deere released in the early 1990's. The class 10 prototype uses a similar system, but there are differences.
