#ABAQUS TUTORIALS: COMPOSITES MODULE 7 - Design Analyses of a Aircraft Wing Using Failure Indices
zhlédnutí 502Před 3 měsíci
Here we discuss several composites failure criteria that can be used to predict first ply failure. We discuss Tsai-Wu, Tsai-Hill, and maximum stress criteria. We model an airplane wing to illustrate the overall procedure on how to design a system that meet the criteria. Mr. Wei guides us through these tutorials. Failure indices are discussed in-depth here: czcams.com/video/8d64bSw67AQ/video.htm...
#ABAQUS TUTORIALS: COMPOSITE MODULE 6 - ABD Matrix Implementation for Composites

Here we learn about how the ABD matrix can be implemented in finite element software. The link below provides a deep understanding of the classical lamination theory: czcams.com/video/CMhwNTMe_mo/video.htmlfeature=shared The following link also provides the excel sheet and cae file used to execute the work: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1KbNFHBZp_bSrsX2VACLCrVmpnKrGmYCW?usp=drive_link

zhlédnutí 476Před 4 měsíci
In this video tutorial we learn how to calculate section forces and moments and how these can be queried in a finite element software. These section forces and moments are key in optimizing structures. Mr. Wei provides a tutorial on how to model an RVE to estimate composite material properties, given the fiber architecture, and fiber volume fraction. These estimates are useful in the early design process when lamina data may not be available readily. Periodic boundary conditions are used to estimate the properties. How do you decide the amount of vent area that facesheets have if you have closed off edges. For instance, we always use corefill on the edges, but it's unclear how many holes we should poke into the facesheet to vent. I have looked for guidance on that but it's hard to find.
