@@osamahitler6127 I wish I could post a picture here now but I'll try my best to explain it. If I am understanding you correctly, at the top of the wall I build a full flat panel coming out (I used stem floors). From there I place the roof piece on top and a half wall on the outer edge furthest from the wall to create the lip.

It's a pretty solid game. I haven't played in a few years so there is so much to catch up on. Expect at least a few NMS videos in the next couple of weeks.

Not at all. A raid can spawn near anyplace that the game considers a "base" and you are at it. I've had raids at some of my places that don't even have a place to sleep.

The Handy Gnat changes everything. It makes building big bases soooo much easier.

@@protocore4034 In real time its tough to tell, but in game, I would expect around 500 days give or take. That world was at 1000 days when that video was made, and that is the second large base.

I'm just testing the waters, trying to get all of my settings right. I have never streamed before, and this video was a reality check on that. I will likely be streaming off and on over the next few days and if it turns out to be alright I may do more in the future.

I started building on this base quite sometime back and that room was the first to get anything in it. The pinecone chest were not a thing at that time, and I never really had a reason to trade them out.

Ooo you noticed. That was the trickiest piece to figure out. I needed a smaller circle for the 3 tiers, and after lots of attempts I ended up using the Buoyant Foundation.

I can't disagree at all. A lot of these videos are me tinkering and learning. I had fun making them so I posted them.

Welcome to the game! Don't worry I still have a list of Grounded videos I want to put out.

This game specifically has changed a lot over time. And, you are lucky if you haven't experienced a raid. If you don't kill many bugs you just haven't made them mad enough yet.

@@ADHD_Hobbies I may also have gotten lucky with my base location, which I chose for aesthetics (a tree house up in the rose bushes.) It's not in any of the danger zones you mention in the vid. Or else they only trigger after a certain point in the game , after a certain number of labs have been completed? Anyway, not complaining, I'm glad not to deal with them, unless maybe later in the game you get access to full on tower defense mechanics..

Thank you very much for all the compliments. I was pretty far into the game before I decided to do this build. I didn't realize the potential the game had until I built a pond base.

My next video in the Beginners Guide series will be about building a base. It wont be as big as the one in my Mega Base video but the concept is the same.
