My favourite part of this performance is the pauses around 4:52-5:48. It is so counterintuitive for a singer to take their time and feel the music like that, even in the pauses. When you're up there in silence, it seems to take an eternity from the stage, so most singers will rush it. It really makes the aria so much deeper and more reflective like this, and proves that he is a really wonderful artist. Edit: of course the singing is fantastic! ...That kind of goes without saying with Amartuvshin Enkhbat - bravissimo!

Bodiloto. Je vois que nous sommes de concert sur l'évolution de la voix et l' interprétation de Maestri. Comme vous le dites da l'inizio a molitissimo migliorato., peut être l'âge et le temps ont amélioré les choses ou alors a t'il trouvé un bon maître qui l'a remis sur la bonne voie. Au plaisir de relire vos observations concernant d'autres interprètes .Sincères salutations.
A. Enkhbat is virtually one of few singers on big stages who remain today to be a TRUE opera singer and successor of the great opera tradition, while 90% have no clue what true opera technique is. The fact that finally he was recognized by Scala is hopeful. Do not forget that this opera was sang on this very stage by Titto Ruffo, Ettore Bastianini, Enrico Caruso, Mario del Monaco! However, I cannot understand the management who put against him Yusif Eivazov as Andrea, it's like matching a lion and mosquito.
How do you know that 90% have no clue what true opera technique is? And 90% out of which crowd? Be more careful with comments of that sort, as they consist of generalizations only.
@@ilecier I know because I go to opera in major world houses, plus I work with hundreds of singers as a coach and conductor...
Coaches and conductors are a dime a dozen. As I suspect with your comments about singers, you are not well liked by them.
