    Wow you had a lot going on at the time! I am currently involved with an FP coach and am enjoying it. So right that it exhausts brain and body and I’ve found it very very helpful to have someone precisely guiding my body to the mind-muscle connection. There is no way I would get involved deeper with them because of Naudi’s attitude. I can see his insecurities a mile off. I really want to like the guy and have a lot of respect of what he’s built, but he’s on the back foot - constantly attacking everyone else and terrified of people copying him. He doesn’t seem interested in collaborating and seems very limited rather than expansive. I had a to sign an NDA when I started with this coach. Unfortunately, I feel that the fact they block anyone who doesn’t agree with them and ban people from training is such a lack mindset. It’s a shame but I guess that’s his journey. I’m sorry he wasn’t kind to you. I would recommend everyone has experience with FP with regards the movement - Something I’ve never done before and it’s been really helpful for me to get to know and move my body more.

    • @MishelleBee
      @MishelleBee Před dnem

      So basically, Naudi has control over anyone passionate about movement, not allowing them to teach or share about it so he wouldn’t let them train. Big red flag for me in an organisation.

    Perhaps Jessica's point #2 could be described as "being pulled out of the [boring!] cartesian coordinate system". Many anatomy systems label our anatomy using the coronal, sagittal, and transverse planes. The three planes are at 90 degrees; everything is squared up. This is nonsense. At best, it's a gross simplification of the beautiful juicy spiraling ways we can actually move. Someone who thinks this way can literally be shacked to flat-earth movement patterns. The rope allows us to question those self-limiting thoughts. Euclid's parallel postulate was never proven. There's a good reason: the parallel postulate is only one possible way to model/visualize the world's geometry. Failing to prove the parallel postulate is a great accomplishment for our civilization. Consider: we move with hyperbolic geometry -- a sister postulate to the parallel postulate. The best visualization I've seen for this is hyperbolic crocheting: (see www.theiff.org/oexhibits/oe1e.html ). Construction is simple: while each row of the material is constructed, loops are periodically added to the row. After a few rows, the crocheted material literally leaps out of 2D and explodes into a coral-like structure. ETSY sells small hyperbolic crochet works and construction plans to make more; MoMath regularly hosts online courses on Topological Crochet to children. I've mentioned STEM to Tim; this is an excellent example. Spiraling motion gives us a way to access these abstract (and often intimidating) concepts. Our CNS rapidly figures out how to do things like the Dragon Roll. The CNS figures out the movement from nothing; it doesn't have to believe or know anything. By seeing/feeling those forces, we can intuitively gain access to ideas like hyperbolic geometry.

    I’ve been flowing for 3 years and the biggest benefit for me has been outrageous confidence, in 2 ways. First, I’ve always been athletic and fit but ropeflow has given me the most agility and coordination I’ve ever experienced. Second, I’m convinced if you can learn to coordinate your hands, feet and rope seamlessly- you can learn ANY physical skill, sport or instrument.

    I heard about rope flow and tried it with a resistent band the last 3 days and omg is this amazing. I'm a really aging lifter and that feels so good in the shoulders and core. It can get the heart rate up, yet there is zero impact. I think, I will buy a rope and will utilize it. Especially when vacations come up and there will be few possibilities to train.

    I think a common misconception is that these motions that get you in different positions don’t relate to gait. I have my clients in all sorts of positions. You need to push boundaries to fortify those boundaries. Rotation is just part of it. It’s more about ratios. David week doesn’t account for how these vertical forces relate to the ratios that FP works with. There is a time to include more horizontal force, rotational force, lateral forces..etc. I was flat footed before FP and after working with the techniques it actually decompress my body to the point where I am not as flat footed. Being a football player exposed to many styles I’ve done more of applying FP principles into explosive movements. It’s bigger than the FP exercises that’s re put in a “box”. There are sheering, bending, rotational forces that need to be created within the body. In order to get a full experience FP I would recommend working with FP for more than 5 years and maybe working with several practitoners
