This same exact thing happened to me, except when I asked other people who were walking by to help me, they just chuckled and kept going, after the man told them that I was just drunk, when I wasn't. He SA'd me and tried punching me. He was trying to drag me to the bus stop to make me go to another town, where he lived, to use me as a prostitute. He threatened my life with a gun. I finally convinced him to take me to a nearby bar. He got me 2 miles away from my house on foot. He snatched me outside of the local dollar store when he asked me for a lighter. I had a giant hole in my leg from cellulitis and was in a lot of pain. The whole time I had my pocket knife concealed in my hand, but I was afraid to use it bcuz dude had a gun and I was afraid of getting arrested for stabbing him, if he didn't leave marks on me before police would be called. If he would have actually hit me, I probably would have stabbed him, but I couldn't run bcuz of my leg, so I would have gotten shot. I was barely able to walk. Once we made it to the bar, he had me out for almost 4 hours at that point. Plus it was in the dead of winter, at night. I had come out of the store at around 8pm, before he grabbed me. Anyways, we go inside and he told me to sit at the bar and not move, and he went to the bathroom. I then ran around to the other side of the counter, and asked a bartender to hide me and call police. She hid me in the back office and then an officer came and brought me outside. I started to tell him what happened and he interrupted me and told me to leave and go home. He was the sergeant. I then walked up to another officer asking if I could get help and press charges. The officer asked if anyone got a statement from me and I said no bcuz the Sergeant was making me leave without telling him everything. I then asked if they could ride me home bcuz my leg was bleeding through the bandage and I was in pain. It was already around 1am. He said to hang on and he went to talk to the sergeant, who was overseeing the guy get searched and asked him if he knew me, and the guy said that he did know me, even though I have never seen him before in my life. I was in my late 20s back then. The Sgt came back over to me and screamed at me, telling me to walk home or he was going to arrest me. I was balling my eyes out and cussed him out and told him that he's the reason why innocent people die. It took me another 2 hours to walk home. About a month later, during xmas dinner, I pulled my uncle aside and told him what happened bcuz he's a state police officer, and he said it was illegal for those officers to do that. Well the other officers wanted to help me, but the sgt wouldn't let them. My uncle also told me that since too much time has passed, that I wouldn't be able to press charges bcuz of lack of evidence, not remembering what witnesses looked like, and not knowing any names. My mom didn't believe me at the time so I couldn't get the support to sue. My own friends didn't believe me bcuz we live in a aafe area. It still bothers me to this day. It's been about 7 years and it boggles my mind. I also have no criminal record, and I wasn't a partier. So, since then I don't go anywhere alone after dark. I rarely go anywhere during the day. I know if my town's police department was involved, they would have done it right and I would have justice. I don't go anywhere without pepper spray. I've been thinking about getting a gun permit as well, but im still deciding. If you read everything I wrote, thank you for reading my experience. I don't talk about it to anyone bcuz of how I was treated by my loved ones after this happened, bcuz they didn't believe that something like that would happen in our town or that the police would do nothing to help me, if I was in serious trouble, meanwhile my life really was in danger and no one helped me.
