Can You Made video for 5 star rating gor Google Sites To Google Sheet?
Yes look at the NPS score video on this channel
Is there anyway to create tables with app script?
Nope. Apps script is way behind when it comes to new features.
Why start the very first example with a chain of 4 methods, when functions most of the time work with arguments instead of grabbing data from fixed sheet cells? You sure you don't want to scare people as the JS bible did? haha
Will keep trying to make it simpler. I got a few ideas for very simple apps script videos in the near future.
im having trouble on my end with permission settings, it says I dont have access, but I'm setting who has access as Anyone
Where does it say you dont have access?
@@BetterSheets it say its on the website, even though I have it so that Anyone can have access. We are using google sites, but even when I embed it into a dummy site it tells me the same thing
hello and thank you very much for giving me templates I still have a few questions, is it impossible to add several APIs to my Google sheets this is what I would like to do hello would this API allow me to do image processing? do you also use software like our automation codes like make? and finally I wanted to ask you another question regarding APIs and Google sheet, do you use this method? could I write to you
This was very very useful. Thank You and Tyler

THANK YOU!!!
Anything else you want to know?
@@BetterSheets nothing else for now. Thanks!
That huge book, Javascript the definitive guide by Flanagan is a very serious book and is awesome. Slightly more digestible is Head First Javascript Programming...but no less brilliant
Will check it out.
if still work? not redirect
To work now needs a url for user to click.
Ok so how to do this in windows?
Maybe Ctrl + Enter?
Thank you soo much!!!! Is and will help me so much. And for that I just bought your Udemy courses. :-)
Amazing. Let me know what add on you ultimately publish.
@@BetterSheets Thanks I published it internally for our organization to help clean up data in gSheets similar to Ablebits Power Tools, like Capitalize, all lowercase, all uppercase for sometimes thousands of records/rows. This helps keep the comments and notes in tact w/out having to create new columns to do functions on and then delete/merge, etc. :-)
it doesn't work. #N/A imported content is empty, please help
Xpath might change often
Odd, I can't get the 'allow multiple selections' box to display. Any idea why?

Wow been waiting for this feature for so long. Used airtable for this specific feature. Thanks!
riiiight. I used airtable once, 10 years ago, and I still feel dirty about it.
@@BetterSheets If I wanted to create a GUI for clients, what would I use in coordination with Sheets? I track ROW projects in sheets with a Summary tab. I would love to be able to have something more polished for the clients to look at.
@@cbassoo7 justuse import range to get data to a sheet you can give access to your clients.
I need to be on that party list! Thanks for the update.
Fantastic!
Better Sheets, Your content is so clean!
Glad you think so! Hope its useful too.
I still manage to learn from your course its hard for me to really understand because youâre teaching way to fast.. not everyone learn at the same speed. I guess you know that already..
Trying to cut out lots of air. Maybe cut out too much.
Hi, you can decreased to 0,5 the speed of the Video as well. In settings. Hope it can helps.
Sorry I mean 0.75
Man !! I donât even see the first workaround!! You just skip things and going way to fast though.. why not going slow ?
Delete the name first in the selection then change it in the range of options
Clearly you're deleting my comments which is truly disappointing. So, here's a third comment you can delete. The better response would have been admitting your mistake and re-making the video so that people who watch it won't be misled by wrong information.
What are you talking about? I dont delete comments.
@@BetterSheets Awesome. Then this is the 3rd time, I'm saying this. You used the wrong reference in trying to format the Date/Time with Apps Script. There is nothing wrong with Utilities.formatDate. Documentation states: formatDate() Formats date according to specification described in Java SE SimpleDateFormat class. They have a link to the recommended reference. Search "apps script utilities.formatdate" or "class utilities apps script"
Thank you very much for this step-by-step tutorial!
What else do you need help with?
This is great! Thanks for that, now, here is another challenge, how can you filter the name table by keywords that have CEO on it?
This is great! Here is another challenge, how do you now filter your name tables by all the keywords that have CEO on it?
I was hoping you would show how the debugger works. Every dang tutorial on youtube uses the old editor and I can't find any info on the new one. Not a single google search brings me anything useful. I was hard pressed to even find acknowledgement of a new editor having been released. I honestly thought my UI was broken or that I hit some f key by accident and hid the real toolbar, but no... new editor, documentation i find is about the old one, tutorials are about the old one and im pulling my hair out because i cant find sh*t. Every tutorial from the old one shows the debugger windows at the bottom. Plus tons of options in the toolbar at the top. The new one doesnt even have a "view" option. Really??? Is it just me or does it look like the new editor is just a stripped-down version? Hardly anything in the toolbar and the debugger shows me literally nothing of use either. Its just one pane on the right with variables I can expand but none of it will tell me what the actual values of those variables are in the part of the code I'm at, unless they are yet undefined or dont reference something (var something = 1; is fine but as soon as a get or set happens I can see nothing. Only expandable functions that all show empty names and null references etc. No actual value of the variabled anywhere. I'm new to this and wanted to write a first script but how am I supposed to find anything or follow along with things about the debugger, if everything has changed an tutorials are outdated and googling the problems only results in outdated results that have nothing to do with my issues with the debugger of 2024? I'm so frustrated. I dont objectively know if this new editor is worse than the previous one, but for someone just starting out it sure is and it feels like Google is trying its hardest to make every single service they offer worse and worse. CZcams's new design, chrome ditching the download bar at the bottom (tf were they smoking? It was the only reason I used chrome and it made them stand out and I wasnt the only one), etc. Sorry for the rant. Ive simply spent 5 hours NOT finding any answers and pulling my hair out. I'm not saying the quality of your video is bad. I skimmed through it so I wouldnt know, but I never saw the debugger appear anywhere, so I'm just disappointed with yet another dead end. Tnx Google. Smh.
To be honest I dont use the debugger myself. I just keep reading the code, or use Logger or read errors.
I just came from The Story of Visicalc czcams.com/video/nDPD7U_M8yw/video.html The video says it belongs to a different channel than where I got it: "Another Boring Story" or whatever. Someone commented as if the rise of Apple was the only substantial change Visicalc brought. Ironically, the original offices of Visicalc were in Arlington Massachusetts, across the street from site of the first shots of Revolutionary War, the preserved Jason Russell House. It is also overlooked because the town was then called Monotomy, and changed names again until it finally became "Arlington". Meanwhile a more substantial battle was fought in Lexington, the next town over, and they've capitalized on it for tourism purposes ever since. I believe Bricklin also lived in Arlington at the time. It is a short drive down Mass Ave to the diner in Porter Square, Cambridge where the first meetings were held. Called Andy's Diner now, I believe it had a name with "Egg" at the time. Also, I can't believe you didn't comment on Dan Fylstra's haircut! Perhaps, like me, you are struck speechless at the sight!
Amazing

You're getting more creative with Sites, Sheets, GAS. Love it. Nice vid. Any way to get Spaces Chats into Sites using Apps Script as an announcements feed?
Is there an api export of spaces chats?
Hi, about troubleshooting this code is for auto GMT zone function timenow() { var timeZone = Session.getScriptTimeZone(); var myDate = Utilities.formatDate(new Date(), timeZone, "MM-dd-yyyy"); return myDate; } inside onEdit() to use: sheet.getRange(row, 3).setValue(timenow());
Good thought!

Cool stuff! Is it possible to make an online form using this method. (if I'dont want to use GForm) how's the performance if the concurrent hit reach 10k per minute.
Yes you can. I dont think its great at so many calls at once.
45:07 You finally got what I was getting at during our workshops. Designing solvable errors is the most effective way of teaching these days. However, it does need to be framed properly so you can get the max results for the clients through it. I'd be more than happy to take any course where the solvable errors leads me to a cool result that I wanted to achieve. In this way, you copy the great strategy of the video game creators: always make the user feel like he can win even thought he died like 20 times đđ
Thank you

You NO LONGER need to LEARN to CODE. What you do need is an ability to ASK EXACTLY for the App Script code that you want of CoPilot and other AI bots. That's the SKILL you'll need in the future.
This is a scared approach to learning to code. Dive in. Learn and also use AI.
hello I had an idea of ââusing an API to do automatic image editing my first idea is to make a robot that could remove the background from my images and put a white background instead a robot that could scan all the images on my site and remove all the backgrounds and change them to white backgrounds I thought it would be possible with the canva kind of api but first I wanted to know if it is possible to do more advanced stuff with the figma API for my background idea
Depends on the figma api. If you can do curl commands to figma api you can use apps script.
@BetterSheets I have a lot of difficulty understanding because I don't know anything about code do you use artificial intelligence to code? for app script code?
â@@BetterSheets hello, do you know api connector? do you use AI for coding? can I find "templates" ?

For anyone that works mobile most of the time, you can actually add checkboxes on the phone. Checkboxes and Drop Downs are both under Data Validation in the 3 dots menu in the top right.
Good point
3:38 The mixing of emerald with the basic green is enough to drive someone that is even semi observant of color up the wall.
Nice analysis!
Will users be able to see my app script when using or sharing the spreadsheet?
If you share the sams sheet you make the add on in. Yes. But not if you install an addon
So where is Google search console, and does it work only on web pages? Is it available without a paid workspace subscription?
Search.google.com yes you can use it without a paid workspace sub
Is it possible to make a Workspace Add-On but not publish it on the Add-On Marketplace? as Unlisted?
Yes you can publish an internal addon to your own domain.
@@BetterSheets Publishing internally would require a Workspace Account as well? What about an Unlisted Editor Add-On? Google references are a bit unclear and hard to find info online.
â@@gothamfuryyou must have a workspace account yes.
Itâs amazing how much you can do with just a little knowledge of what you want and Google Sheets. This has so many applications. Thanks again, Andrew!
