Chasing South Shore Freight in Region Snow
This video is a perfect showcase of typical Region winter weather. Sunny in the morning then moderate snow a short time later.
First up is CSS 2005 and 2008 running west past the classic Beverly Shores station. They stopped alongside 2000 and 2001 on the east side of Miller before proceeding west. I then start chasing 2000 and 2001 which are on their way to EJE's Kirk Yard in Gary.

IBCX 6321 working for Chesapeake and Indiana Railroad pulling a loaded grain train out of Malden, IN then passing the small private elevator at Liberty View, IN. The GP38-2 was isolated and not helping pull the train. At the time of filming this was the railroad's only turbocharged engine, but SD40-2 6386 has since joined the roster. 4-16-2021

I call that the "Git 'r dun" sound! But these rebuilds didn't have a true/pure 567 in them as they were rebuilt with 645 power assemblies.

2568 is actually a Dash 9 (C44-9W), not a Dash 8 (C40-8W). It's ok. I made this mistake before
How many railcars was that little engine moving?
Well, it is still very much around in 2024 but due to the emergency shutdown of the Blackwell Northern Railway and the Rock Island, yes, that Rock Island as it was revived, is taking over for the time being. It is a possibility that the very rare SD18 with Alco trucks may enter the Rock Island's roster if the companies give the Rock Island the contract for the railroad when looking for a permanent operator.

that's an interesting malfunction. It appears that when the crossing is active, the hold clear began to slip and was unable to keep the gate up. My guess would be the block in the hold clear device was not adjusted properly, paired with a voltage problem that occurred when the crossing activated
With street running eliminated this line will look much more like SEPTA REGIONAL ELECTRIC RAILROADS IN PHILADELPHIA.
