This looks amazing! I see that it will have an IDEX upgrade in the future. Any thoughts on 3/ 3+ tool heads?
Congrats my friends! Hope you keep doing great and innovative stuff! Love you! Love Portugal makers! O que é Nacional é bom ❤️💚

Shut up and take my money meme
1K MM/S? that's the ugliest attempt to write 1 m/s I can think of. I would probably prefer imperial to it
Glad I got my car paid off
Music by AI not the community. That song reeks of AI artifacts
Love the overview of the beacon. Great idea to make it standard, its the best technology to choose. Lets see chamber heating and thermal management for high warp materials next. That would sell me on ratrig
This will go well.
Do you guys want to send us some blue balls over here in Tunisia ? the rats are hungry! A hungry rat here, impatiently waiting for his RatOs powered VC4 to arrive. Also I'm pretty sure it's going to be a first
I'm in the queue for a VCore 4 500 and I can't wait to receive that email.
So great!
I cant get beacon contact to measure in tolerance on voron. Wonder if rail too much play
I would absolutely love to get one but I'm broke and yeah... I'm just wayy too broke to get one.
Will there be a 3.1 to 4.0 upgrade kit?
Running RatOS 2.1 with Beacon on my Vcore3.1. Yesterday, I switched to a new build plate, changed my nozzle and switched from PETG to LW-PLA. Did not have to do ANY calibration... Sliced part, send to printer, perfect first layer and Perfect print. Worst thing is, I never realised I didn't have to do a z-offset calibration, first layer test, squish test... Etc... I just started printing .. Amazing!!!
I'm glad to have discovered you guys! Keep it up, looks like wind is hitting your sail!
I signed up but never got a confirmation of my early bird and now I hear early bird is finished and I haven't had any notice.
Ratrig was the best 3d printer purchase I ever made.
Ohhhh wait a minute . lol I did not realize the wires did not come pre crimped 😅. Well time to practice
Waiting for my VC4 300 to ship! I'll be ordering the IDEX once it's available and NOW the Beacon Contact option too! Sign me up!
Are you guys still doing the Mill and mini Mill?
Amazing!! I’m so happy about my VC4 😍 I also want to hear news about the V chonk kit and the CNC mill! I’m eager to try them 😁
I'm saving up for a VCore 4 500! It's going to take me a while but I'm convinced you guys have the best design out right now.
The beacon contact is a game change, nothings beats a perfect first layer 😊
How do we confirm you have our reservation?
If RatRig wouldn´t have gone the way cheaper -> cheaper -> cheaper, i would think about getting a VCore 4 ... I´ve had several VC3´s and a Minion. Then i made the mistake to order some RatRig parts for some special DIY machines (esp. these Z-Anti-Wobble-Couplers), just to find them manufactured VERY unprecise (resulting in additional backlash of up to 0.12mm). Also the Beacon probe: I got mine around ten months ago and NEVER was able to scan RatRig PEI sheets accurately. They are made of cheap rolled sheet steel and the rolling process results in different material densities across the sheets. Of course the Beacon records that as a "height difference". From SEVEN tested plates, only ONE gave a more or less usable scan result (still 0.03mm difference to the "real world", but at least ...). The rest differed up to 0.18mm ! So: Sorry, but no, thanks... Not the VC4 and not the Beacon :(
Sorry to hear about your experience, sounds frustrating for sure. However, this sounds like a clear case of misdiagnosis from overthinking. Your problem sounds a lot like poorly tightened motor couplers - a super common assembly mistake. I have supported several hundreds of v-core users at this point and have *never* seen anything to the degree of these issues you speak of. Obviously if any of those claims are real, that’s an easy RMA on your 2 year warranty 😊
That's a skill issue on your part. 3 beacon rev d and all run perfect
@@miklschmidt 2 year warranty is fantastic in this industry.
just for the record, the build sheets from the VC4 are new ones from a different vendor and much more consistent, these are not the same as one the VC3.1
also, with the beacon you can measure the z-backlash pretty accurate, its way below then what you have experienced, with the same couplers
The beacon contact promises unicorns and rainbows, and so far, everything I've seen makes it look like they can back up those claims. I just have to wonder how that works, especially with klipper and especially with the light amount of force of the nozzle. I cant imagine its an accelerometer so that's very curious/interesting.
Using a beacon on my vcore 3.1 (also beta ratos 2.1)and I can confirm it has an accelerometer built in. Only thing that I have as a minus point is it doesn't work with the ebb42 so you have to wire a separate cable for that
It looks like RatRig is chooching away at making their printers easier to build and better, though I do think there are some things that can be improved. From the 247 printing review I feel there are probably 2 areas where I would most want to see improvement with the VCore4. Firstly, I think a filament buffer system akin to what is on the back of the X1 series of printers would be great to keep precise consistent drag felt by the extruder and avoid the filament feed problems he had occur. I don't think by any means it currently cannot work, I just think this would be a big improvement, especially for printers with such long filament paths. Secondly, I'd love it if these big printers had scalloped out aluminum beds as while the aluminium bed is excellent for flatness, the time it takes for the entirety of the bed to actually get to equilibrium is quite long, meaning that if one wants to print consistently, they must wait about 15 minutes for the bed to get up to a consistent temp in spite of what the sensor says. With that in mind, I also feel that the sensor being deeper in the aluminium plate would give a better picture of what temperature the bed was truly at and offer a more consistent surface as a result. That all being said, I'm still quite curious to see the IDEX implementation out into the wild as well as the talked about MMU system. On a printer kit this large that would be amazing.
But my name on the reserve list a few weeks ago looking very forward to getting my first rat rig 😊
What Z calibration? I have never calibrated that on my VCore4
Z-offset
@@Maverickzeros i know that im just playing dumb :)
I just received my invoice request today, but I ordered a Peoply Magneto yesterday. Now I have to decide do I want another Rat Rig?
Complete different machines. I’ll take a RatRig any day of the week, but it’s your choice
The original beco start with marlin firmware end the best function of the becon is in marlin end that is the life zoff set on real printer time
I recently got all 4 of my machines on 2.1 and got both my Vcores on contact. Both had been having axis twist issues and poof they're gone. Very impressed keep up the good work! P.S check out my resume! I'm a very experienced CAD designer who's looking for a job after a cross country move. My name is Logan Holman
2:24 Yes! We are in 2024, yet those big, fast, filament munching RatRigs have no filament run-out sensor, in it's kit, in this same year of 2024... I do like the printer, don't get me wrong and will always support EU / Western companies but some of your decisions, that bear no additional expenses are highly questionable :(
They use the Orbiter extruder which has a purpose built runout sensor available. Super simple and cheap to add if you want. Personally I dislike runout sensors, more trouble than they're worth in many situations
@@gavintaggart7370 None of my printers have had a single problem related to the runout filament sensor! And every one of those sensors have saved my butt, during long, critical, some very expensive prints! It's 2024, you have "smart sensors", regular fillament sensors - the real cost for the LED / IR emitter, wheel and PCB is less than 3 EUR! I'm sorry! But those RatRig printers start at EUR 1200 without VAT (for the 300mm version). They can include The Beacon, but you'll not get a runout filament sensor, oh no! You'll have to go buy it yourself (sensor+shipping)! Exactly, when I saw the Orbiter 2.0 and I saw that the sensor is missing - I got extremely puzzled! Why? Why not include it in the kit?!
It's a kit printer, you can literally add any run-out sensor you want.
@@gavintaggart7370 I'm currently building my V-Core 4 500 and to be honest am surprised about the lack of filament runout sensor. The are no Orbiter sensors available in EU near me currently so that's a bummer! Never heard of filament sensor problems, I have a Prusa MK3S+ and I have relied on that sensor a lot...
@@Maverickzeros The point though is, why not have the best config for average users out of the box.
Bom trabalho malta. Estou neste momento à procura de uma boa impressor para a empresa onde trabalho, e penso que já sei qual vai ser. Ainda por cima Made in Portugal! 😉
Only the ones that had a ratrig can see the issues and the actual cost after all the upgrades needed. It is a beautifull machine but overengineered, low quality bearings, no cnc plates to compensate etc
