    Thanks for the info on the printer. I have the IP8720 and the ink did not last long at all. Could you tell me where you got the ink and cartridges from or can I get them from your store? I did buy my screen print machine from your store in Sac. Do you have these items on the shelf? Thanks again!!!!

    I don’t know why the CZcams algorithm suggested this video to me, but I’m watching hoping to find out what is “screen printing” 😁 Ii’s the first time I’m hearing anything about this subject Edit: I’ve just heard another term “printing film”… I’m not going to rewind, but I’m pretty sure that the first time I heard “screen printing”. Now I’m wondering if they’re both the same :))

    Not sure where you purchased those refillable cartridges, but I had similar ones for my pixma ix6820, and the cartridges never reset. It did not matter if they were completely filled with ink. The printer would detect them as empty.

    Man, great timing on this! I've got a used Canon Pixma Pro100 that I have struggled and succeeded with since starting to screenprint from my garage a couple of years ago. I just recently thought, okay, maybe it's time to buy a new printer. Do you sell the all black ink system you showed in the video. I am going to check this out ASAP! Also.....very interested in your classes! Thanks for the video :)

    Hey I was wondering what the difference in pulling vs pushing the ink through. Does it bleed less or something? I thought that usually came from the flood or the mesh count but just wondering as I was taught to pull the screen toward me and not push because it can rip the silk with new squeegees???

    If you make a table template you don't have to use a t square every time. Lay film down on table, place screen on top of film and voila. Hit me up if you want a video.

    Great video! I’m gearing up to purchase a jumbo pre burned screen from you guys (new brand owner) so this makes my anxiety go down lol. Is it possible to swap out the ink & will the emulsion remain intact?

    • @NorCalScreenPrintSupply
      @NorCalScreenPrintSupply Před 5 měsíci

      Thanks! If you're using plastisol ink, just use a press wash that is formulated for plastisol. If you're using waterbased inks, be sure to request that your screen be chemically hardened to resist stencil breakdown.. You can use water to wash off waterbased ink (not plastisol), but don't scrub your screen with anything too abrasive or put chemicals on it or it may break down. Keep on printin'!

    I worked in a commercial screen printing operation for about five years and I can contribute one small tip to this helpful video. When possible (when it doesn't interfere with anything) double up the end(s) of the tape strips just a tiny bit to create pull tabs. For example, on the two pieces over the reg marks marks in this video, if there's a tiny tab at the end of the tape you'll never have to dig for it with your fingernails on the mesh or emulsion to get it to start coming up. Just don't do it if the tab is going to be somewhere inside the image area because the extra thickness or the hanging tab could leave an impression in the prints. When I had to use less-than-ideal tape it was often an incredible help. It even works for the strips lining the inside of the frame if you are good at applying it carefully. Hope that helps someone with their tape removal woes!

    What kind of low-tack adhesive do you use to hold the fabric in place? I've got several types of automotive and 3M sprays, but I think they would be far more permanent than would be wise.

    how do you lower your greyscale opacity to avoid dot gain ?

    • @NorCalScreenPrintSupply
      @NorCalScreenPrintSupply Před 10 měsíci

      Hmmm not sure I understand. I usually would not lower greyscale opacity. If you want to reduce the color information and print less information, you could select the art in Photoshop and use the curves function to lessen the darkness. To prevent dot gain, use higher mesh count and keep print strokes to a minimum - just enough to clear the ink through the screen and onto your shirt. Hope that helps!

    • @rixal78
      @rixal78 Před 10 měsíci
