Easter Egg Rock Painting Tutorial
In this video I will show you how I painted this large sparkly blue Easter egg on a rock.
Paint:
I used 3 shades of blue/teal , some yellow and white acrylic paint as well as Glitterific by Folk Art for extra shimmer.
I also used gold fabric paint for the border and inside decoration.
Tools:
A medium wide soft paint brush
A fine tipped small paintbrush
Small sponges

I see that this video was from three years ago and you only have three but maybe you’ve decided to do more videos or maybe you’re on TikTok and you’ll send me your account. You’re too talented to have stopped.
Thank you for your messages Janice! ❤ the reason I stopped was many life changes after mid 2021. But I do plan to do more videos…. Life is slowly getting settled and I am itching to get back to painting. My plan is to do more canvases and eventually sell prints on a website. Also more CZcams videos like these.
Your artwork is beautiful. I love to watch any of your videos that you put up. All of those Easter eggs are beautiful. I’ll be looking forward to some spring and summer tutorials. By the way, do you fill in your rocks the top surface and send them down with like sparkling or anything before hand.

Thank you so much! I’m happy you like my phoenix tutorial :) I had a bit of a hiatus from making these videos as I did some travelling and then a big move. Could you use sponges to apply base coats instead of paper towels?
Yes I think that would work well. The reason I used the paper towel was because I found it left a little more white texture for the stars. Also because most people have paper towel. But it’s not necessary :)

What kind of brush are you using?
I was using brushes from a craft store called Michaels. For the large brush the bristles are soft and fine, it helps to get a smooth surface without streaks. For the silhouettes and shooting stars I use very small fine tipped brushes. It helps if they are a bit longer so there is more time between dipping in more paint and I find easier to make curved lines and thin tree branches :)
