Well I love and enjoy making guitar covers. For this I used a drums and bass only track of the song welcome home sanitarium by Metallica and recorded all the guitars on top trying to stay close to the original sound but at the same time just wanted to have fun and didnât get stuck trying to 100% match everything. I read somewhere that Kirk was asked by the producer during the MOP recording sessions to do one last solo and he had to be at the airport in an hour then he came up with this within that time. It sure sounds improvised and itâs really short but even then he was able to add interesting things and make it memorable even more than most of his later work with Metallica. Iâm using a rectifier with a Marshall cab and boosted the hell out of the top end looking for that Hypocrisy late 90âs guitar tone. Sounds awful by itself with in a record sits so good for that style. Btw I was just playing random stuff I think some of it sounded cool other things not so cool haha #espguitars

Just for fun I recorded 4 guitar tracks playing what is probably Metallicaâs heaviest song. I didnât do any post processing thereâs a excess low end product of the quad tracking Iâm aware of that. The setup made it sound more like RTL album tone which I love because of how raw and full of character it sounds. Thanks for watching đ€

Whereâs the guitar from cause I want that exact one
ESP has a poly finish while Gibson on the other hand has a nitro finish, makes a huge difference in how guitar sounds. Then above all else come the pickups - ESP has EMGs and Gibson has their passive 498s and the difference in tone and feel is drastic to say the least. Both sound good though.

I think the only way to make this any better is to turn the presence down a tad bit on the crunch, and bump up the trebles in that clean. otherwise perfect amazing job :D

I know the shapes of these two guitars are slightly different, but are the sizes pretty comparable?
Sounds badass and killer playing So when youre changing the pickup switch, how are you also changing between distortion and clean? Are you using a pedal or is it some other setup and how does James do it in lives?
The Gibson just sounded a lot fuller all around. The ESP sounds like a good single coil.

Sound is spot on (to the record's production). I imagine it would have originally sounded a little more like a mix between MoP and the black album if not for the way the entire mix was de-bassed.
