i looked around at my life today because it's my birthday, and i just kinda stopped for abit bc i didn't think i'd make it as far as i have. I remember being 11, on the phone to lifeline blabbering about how nothing mattered. I remember being 12-13, back and forth between doctors getting an almost comical amount of diagnosis' and having to leave the school i was in, starting homeschool. I remember losing all the people that really mattered, getting involved with the police and ultimately breaking. But here i am now. I got a job, i made a couple friends and i'm at said workplace every day of the week because it's my happy place. I work at a roller skating rink, it's the best thing thats happened to me. After everything that i have experienced, i am standing and i am living a somewhat average teenage life with teenage experiences. No, i don't get high, but i have snuck out to just be myself with people who don't care who i am. No, i don't get drunk, but i do go to parties No, i don't have sex, but i do have genuine friends. Having fun isn't just sneaking out to get high, drunk and have sex Having fun is being with the people who make you feel good, make you do stupid shit but don't let you endanger yourself. Finding your people will change your perception of fun. You don't have to be high or drunk to be or have fun. You don't have to have sex to be loved. Just do you.

Oof, I didn't scour the playlist before playing and got jump-saddened by "Tomcat Disposables". Makes me sob every time. The mouse didn't deserve to die, it couldn't understand why it was deemed to. It had no chance. It had only a glimpse of the life it desired just so it could be killed from the inside. There was no way to fight or run, only to rot with its traitorous gift. How cruel, really, and for what? The mouse ate to survive and was fatally poisoned for mere convenience. Maybe knowing I would've killed it too is what gets to me. Not anymore, but certainly before... it's so easy to turn off one's sympathy when you've convinced yourself their life matters less than your immediate comfort. What a lie. AGH, SEE HOW IT GETS TO ME??? I love Will Wood's music.
