What’s telling about this setup is not how clean the tools are but the drawer liners are spotless. Not a speck of dirt on them. Beautiful.
It is a lot of hard work to keep stuff this clean!
Nice set up. I love the ‘box colour combo. Classic and timeless. I would’ve been nice to have had close-ups of some of the ones you especially liked.
sweet video!
Dumb place for an oil filter and a dumb idea to punch a hole it it.
Please lower the car a few inches.
What a special car.
Hi "Olsen Spec" - In your channel have some problems, that's why your channel is not much growing. And if you can solve, Your channel will get more engagement like storm. If you want I can tell these problems. Can I tell? Where? Here or in email?
Wrist pins in these motors float, when it wouldn't go in should have raised a red flag. By beating the wrist pin in (And subsequently back out afterwards) you certainly damaged the pin bore and possibly the pin, as well as potentially the rod. If the piston wasn't before mock up.. it certainly is shot now. Rod bearing clearances on the crank pin by pounding on the rod sideways could have peened the bearing shell since its softer babbitt. Have you considered pulling it back apart to verify that nothing got damaged, or bent and possibly replacing? Good luck!
I hope this comment is taken in the right light..... but you DESTROYED that piston. What you did is without a doubt 100% incorrect. Pin to bore clearance is measured in tenths of a thousandth, and the pin bores are honed to size and are a CRITICAL clearance in a motor. At 6:40 there are visible dents and dings from you beating up the inside of the pin boss when you were trying to hammer the wrist pin in. Moving to an adjustable reamer (Those are not accurate or appropriate for this type of application) with an open ended wrench that eventually yielded a pile of aluminum shavings from that piston until you got it to slide into the bore is not supportive of a viable solution. You need to measure the wrist pin, the bore, or whatever the final clearance wound up at (I guarantee it's no longer round). It would be good practice in those circumstances to stop, determine the issue definitively, and then correct it properly.... even if you had to return them to JE for replacement. You are taking a very big risk on a valuable motor, with expensive components on a 6 figure car. It's also not good practice to be poking at pistons and rings with the sharp end of a flat head screwdriver. I encourage you to consult with someone who has experience with this (JE, a machinist, your boss etc) and perhaps consider your next video being of you disassembling this motor and re-checking your rod, bearing clearances and replacing the piston. It is generous that you are taking the time to make videos and share information with the community. Issues and hiccups certainly suck, but you can catch this and repair, or at very least verify it before you button it up and send it. Good luck!
Another excellent, informative video. Thank you Olsen Spec!

Bullshit is wearing ALL white while working on an engine, bullshit for brains. "I know how to pick my nose son."
I said those words let me show you how this air impact works as a coworker asked to borrow my half-inch drive air impact I said this one's really powerful he said I know how to work an air impact he wouldn't let me tell him that this was a NASCAR team ported Ingersoll Rand air impact and that we had half inch air hoses in the shop and 175 PSI when I got back from lunch he threw my air impact at me and said that thing's defective it just broke 17 lug nuts off that Cadillac . He complained to the store general manager that I had loaned him a defective tool the service manager and I walked into the general manager's office the general manager closed the blinds and the door and we all started laughing
17 lug nuts broken lol who torqued them to 500 ft lbs to begin?

Never dry fire an air hammer. 😮

@Olsenspec Ive been guilty of doing it. My tool guy lost his mind when He seen me dry fire my air hammer. Scolded me like I banged his old lady. For some reason air hammers are so f****** expensive. Only to use them once every 5 years.
