I had one implanted a few weeks ago. And I look more like Garrison Keillor than I do these folks. So I will never have a CZcams vid done by Medtronic about me. And for KC, the issues you had were not the LINQ. There were other reasons for the issues you describe. BTW I use High Power RF (500 to 1500 watts) everyday & I worked in engineering most of my life. The LINQ is milliwatts (1/1000 of a watt very tiny). You probably get more RF exposure from your microwave, radios, phones etc. I'd bet my life (not said flippantly as I am a very conservative person about such things) on my statement. If you look for bad, you will find it.

I’m now 75 years old and have had my ICD 13 years. All this time I’m told it’s been steadily pacing my heart, but I’ve never felt a thing. Two days ago I got my first ever shock. I truly, after all these years, figured it would never happen. I was sitting still in my chair and began to feel odd, serious turmoil in my upper left chest. I recall thinking it felt deadly. Then suddenly I was physically jolted forward completely out of my chair. It was not painful in the least, rather it was like an internal punch outward forward, a massive thud, somewhat soft, but powerful. It left me weak for hours and slightly disoriented. I had no idea what to do so just called my cardiologist. Since this happened, I’m gathering my educational info on the Internet. If you’ve got or are soon getting an ICD, be positive and thankful this technology exists. I know it saved me.

September 8 2022 went in for a catheter ablation. While in the operation I went into Sudden Cardiac arrest. I got my permanent pacemaker inplanted the next day. I have an abbot dual lead and my battery is good for another 8 yrs until it needs to be replaced. I had been dealing with covid and Afib for about 8 months prior. I am glad that my ablation was successful, despite my cardiac arrest. then getting a pacemaker. I have fully recovered and I do very well now. Grateful for my medical team here in Las Vegas at Nevada Heart and Vascular. They saved my life.

Thanks for sharing. I too have an ICD fitted (4 years ago). My heart behaves slightly differently now than it used to and it’s taken me ages to accept it. I too have suffered from anxiety and have done a CBT course which has helped. However, it’s a wonderful device and has saved my life. To reduce my anxiety I do not ever look at the box the lady mentioned. Occasionally, the device sends or receives info from the hospital. This is dated on the machine, so if I saw a transmission date then I would worry about what was transmitted. My cardiologist told me that if they wanted to contact me then they would and not to worry about the machine
