Gladius is technically a machete. Plus, it was invented to break through chain mail (well stab through it that is), regardless the training weapon held up pretty damn well.

what did you think would happen? a thick, blunt, cold steel gladius that has a short range and wider neck thus even harder to break than many other swords of course it would destroy that block. But Sorry to say this though, cinder blocks really are quite flimsy
All I can really say is the more these videos come out, the less people take them seriously, and hopefully they'll stop making them, because these videos just harm the movement. Especially the f*ckH8 feminist videos. I'm not one who believes kids shouldn't be allowed to curse, frankly I don't care if they do or don't, but to tell them to curse, and exploit their children for shock value, that's low. I think it's time to use another method to represent feminism and equal rights.

It would seriously suck to get whacked on the ribs with the flat of this thing, i have the gladius machete, as well as other home defense options, all of them are a tad lethal though, i think this would make a decent less lethal beatstick as long as the strikes were kept below the shoulder, heck my knees feel it just thinking of getting whacked in the thigh on the outside above the knees with the flat.
Swords do not just go through center block. Not even a good one. (Un like cold steel)(it no good)

I own this and it is amazingly sexy, just remember when attempting to create a style that the gladius was one of the first machetes, so it is a hack and slash weapon, not a finesse weapon.
The Gladius is a stabbing weapon. The roman legions stood in close formation,big shields (scutum) locked and stabbed with the Gladius. Know your history....

I bought two of these they are fucking strong I have used in fights with full out hard blows against my brothers also I train with it against trees and broke 2-3inch thick ice off a small bridge in woods near me. Definitly recommend it, its super strong and also a nice weight. I am not careful with it at all and hit anything that might stand it's wrath. only had one little peice of plastic tear off after I destroyed a tree trunk for like 30 minutes
***** when using against another sword there is either no or barely any indication of another sword striking it. Against harder objects like wood or rock there are minor dents/chips

Gladius is better than medieval and greek sword. It permise at the roman legions to conquist the world . The sword ins't very important for Greeks , don't see the film 300!
When used in phalanx formation with a legion of soldiers, it's great, but one-on-one, a longer sword will have an advantage against it.

***** yeah phalanx was with thrusting spears and lances wasn't it? also one of the trade offs to having a longer blade was the blades temper became more crucial, having a longer length meant lateral stress to the sides of the blades was more likely to bend or break the blades, shorter blades are a bit more forgiving of lateral stresses so the temper wasn't quite as crucial, they just made the central "spine" of the blade a bit thicker to compensate, the gladius was probably the epitome of short chop and thrust blade designs, there was a reason they were standard issue for so long lol.
Arctic Gator Lances are something else. And a phalanx is a wall of spears/pikes.
Not talking about the knight type lances, a lance is longer than a spear, but shorter than a pike and generally used to stab at people from horseback or by foot soldiers, as a more maneuverable alternative to a pike but still has more reach than the average spear.
