This video came to me in a fever dream many years ago. After much searching, I finally found the original! Very cool!
WTF. Why ,would you show how that
Those doors need modding for key holes
Keyholes are illegal in California to prevent people from riding on top of the elevator car.
@@elevatorsbylexi lmao how tf y’all open the doors then? Don’t tell me it’s just like this video…
Dude speak louder 🗣️
thank you very much !!
Your very welcome
Thanks man
I just watched my childhood burn.
Thanks very much!
where you get tool from ?
When you train on the cruise ships, they usually have someone right behind you making sure the couplings aren't causing damage to the ship.
At the end of the day, sure you saved an hour, didn’t have to pay for an overtime call, got an anxious person out of an elevator a little sooner etc. But you risked killing yourself or at the least doing several thousand dollars worth of damage to equipment that is vital for your building. I am an elevator technician. I’ve been trained and certified and I have been working at this for 13 years. Twice I have had a situation where I wasn’t paying attention and could have fallen or been crushed. I think about those two moments everyday. We have several rules for working safety in my company and unfortunately each one is written in someone else’s blood. Please don’t think you can work on your own elevator especially if it involves getting into the shaft. You’re going to get hurt or die. Just call a professional. There is someone available 24/7 and usually onsite within an hour or two.
Great resource. Used it this weekend to open an elevator with the keys locked inside. Worked like a charm.
Good job man 🙏
Do you have to reprogram anything???
Negative

This is awesome. Would save our crew so much time waiting for an elevator tech to show up on some of our calls when the reset doesn’t work. You would happen to have the dimension on some of these picks by chance?
Awesome Video! Thank You!

Is there a benefit to doing this vs. replacing the entire harness? Seems tedious. I just bought a harness on Amazon for $70.
As a matter of fact YES!!!! two ways to look at it. If you are having issues with broken/burnt wires, then replace the harness. if you have a broken connector(s) then replace the connector. to replace the harness for a broken connector is crazy especially when the motor is still in. I had the engine out of the truck, harness was removed from the engine and given to me to fix the connectors. I gave the harness back to the mechanic to reinstall. that is the difference. making access to all the plugs, and connectors and making sure they are rerouted back the way they started is very important. So if you take that job on , then you are the MAN!. I just didn't have the time or the knowledge to do it myself. Hope that answers your questions. PS... i had some time between my engine being removed from the truck and being resealed to repair the connectors.
@@ttuzz Ah. Okay. Thanks for the quick reply.
Very clever, but it looks very, very tricky to aim rod in just the right position and angle to unlock the door.
It just takes a little practice and you can nail it every time. The key is to identify the type and make of elevator and choose the correct pick.
What brand are the connectors, and what business did you purchase them from?

That is my childhood right there...
This video is epic. I will try some of these. The person doing it is really skilled. There are some lifts with some right weird drop key where I can't open it, but the door is just a GAL. I will try tieing some string to the door bar and pull it upwards.
Please understand this video was intended for elevator rescues only. not for elevator surfing outside of Inspection Mode. Inspection mode shall be utilized when riding atop elevator car.
But it is more fun in normal mode. Inspection mode is so slow.
@@benolifts How right you are ;D

Why did it burn down?????
Jemmalynn Mesa I don't know why it burned down but that corner of the building is a bunch of storage I believe.
I miss it!
XxlollpopgirlxX me too!
Do you have any idea of how dangerous it is to show people how to enter a elevator hatch? You're a classic example of "when a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing." Please remove this video you irresponsible boob.
Eddie G By the way before you comment on this video next time please read the description and you might learn that this video was unlisted and only for select professionals. If this video does not pertain to you then delete this video from your history or what ever you need to do in order for you to not watch it. Thank you for your concern on the matter.
Well, I can view it and I was never asked what profession I am in. That means anyone, including kids that was to go "elevator surfing". You might want to try a little harder to prevent anybody from getting this information. People get killed more frequently than you probably realize from misusing the type of information the video you posted contains.
Eddie G Well I appreciate your concern and I will work on keeping it from being searchable. On the flip side in the description it clearly states this is for fire department use only. Also these picks aren't something you just slap together. It takes years of experience and skill to formulate a pick like these. Then you have to be taught how to use them. I understand your concern but it's very difficult to police everybody in this country. If you don't mind me asking, why are you searching for "elevator surfing"? Was there a significant incident that you heard about or something?
I have been in the elevator business for 12 years. We respond a lot to these kinds of things.
There is a lot to learn from this video.
No sure how you got this video because it's suppose to be unlisted. This video is meant for fire fighters and it's just a quick intro to the amazing picks developed to get into an elevator shaft and make a rescue. The alternative to picking a door is blowing then with airbags and you and I both know that's going to cost the building owner thousands of dollars in repairs let alone put the elevator out of service for weeks even months. So think about what this information can do to keep these elevators intact and safely rescue someone in need. As the fire department. We don't have 30min to an 1hr or longer to wait for and elevator mechanic to arrive on scene only to tell us it can't be picked. So again this video was only given to a certain group. It shouldn't be public. Hopefully we can all be on the same page.
why is the US so weird about elevators. In europe there is a release key mechansim on every single floor. This makes it a lot more easy to get into the shaft or to free trapped passengers
@@LiftsInGermany unfortunately here in California (USA) there is no "Drop Key" like other states have to pick the doors. So with our picks we can open any elevator with no damage.
@@ttuzz hey man this video should not be available to the pubic.. I’m local 8 out of the SF.
Sorry i took so long to respond. Im not sure what you mean plugs cause the items i purchased were the connectors(at least thats the item name when i purchased them). it comes with everything you need to replace the old connector that broke. hope that helps.
Did the plugs come with the connector or did you get them separately? Also where did you get the pin tool from. I am having a hard time finding it on line. Thanks for posting the video. Great job.
