Stopping at only level 7 really impacted your view of the game, as you are still basically doing tutorial mission til you get past 10th. And grouping up always makes everything better. Hell, if you have form an actual supergroup you can build your own secret base!

UFO: Enemy Unknown was the first XCOM game. It was only sold as XCOM in North America, IIRC. So UFO: Enemy Unknown is not the first game in this series, it's the first game in the XCOM series. That said, Julian Gollop intended the UFO Trilogy to be a sort of reboot, before his company went bankrupt and he sold the rights to Altar Games. So the trilogy is a kind of parallel series or reimagining.

i traded in games and got this from media play when i was a kid. It sucked.

It's probably the only Free 2 play MMORPG that is worth it for a continued playthrough, although running different heroes through the same stories can get tedious after awhile, you start to learn which builds fit your play style pretty early. I really like it.

Were arcades really a whole pound per credit back in the 90s? Jesus, over here in the States most of them were 25 cents, with I think some of them going to 50 cents per credit maybe in the later 90s and when arcades started dying a bit.

This game is classic! I remember playing this on the PC with MAME way back in the day.

Great little video that mate well done. AVP has always been one of my favourite games. I think you nailed it right on the spot. It's a shame Capcom never made a home port of this but thanks to Mame and Fightcade there are penty of places to play. I will defo be watching some more of your content. Thanks :)

For me this game is all about character building and getting the pieces of the puzzle you need to become a SUPER hero. There is a program (Mids Reborn) that allows you to plot a build before you start. There is also an auction house that allows you to buy and sell just about everything in the game. I started playing this game in 2004 and still play some now.
