Saw Mike with that band (w/Meat Puppets). I wonder why Watt seems to mainly play Minutemen songs when he tours. I've seen him a few times solo and I don't recall even one fIREHOSE song or even his Ball Hog Tug Boat super group songs. I feel like he probably wants to keep those songs alive more than the others.
minutemen has some of the most fun music by any punk band. i imagine playing those super fun songs written by yourself and your dead best friend hits different then playing anything else

Sounds like an early form of Chevelle. Chevelle is one of my favorite bands and have been going strong since at least my days in highschool (early 2000s). Saw them back in 2019 at Bay Shore with Breaking Benjamin and 3 Days Grace. Keep going guys!

Such a fantastic show.
This event was a nightmare 🤣 110 plus degree heat, an even hotter microphone. We were miserable. At least this video has a story. Sorry for the out of tune guitar. George dropped his guitar and broke the string nut after being electrocuted. Epic 🔥
Things I discovered at this show: 1. If you have a wireless guitar setup, you won't get electrocuted by a badly grounded microphone. 2. Heat exhaustion is real. I almost died. 3. Modesto gig in the summer outside, never again.

they mentioned CJSR so it was probably at the SUB (students union building) theatre university of Alberta in Edmonton. pretty sure I was at this show.... everything was a bit hazy back in the 80s. Saw That petrol emotion and soul asylum and a few other bands there.
If I could turn back the clock. I think 86 was best year of my life. I was living in california and skating was booming.
Not from Idaho. Still find it interesting. I started skating a year after this and it’s just cool to see what everyone else was doing. Pretty cool we all kinda did the same thing without the internet. Traveling as a kid, always saw kids in each region dressed and talked a little different but skaters were the same everywhere. Whether I was in Atlanta seeing my moms family or in the northeast for my dads the skaters all had a look and a vibe that was universal. Now everyone in the country has the internet so everyone follows the same trends. We all did that with very little media coverage. Dope look into the past.

So Sad was written in 1977 by Cheetah after the first time the Dead boys broke up in Cleveland. It was originally supposed to be on we’ve come for your children follow up album but was never recorded until last year but hasn’t been released yet due to record company complications and line change ups. I recorded the drum track and am playing here. The song has taken on so many new meanings since all that time has passed. Specifically it’s about Stiv and Johnny Thunders. - Smokey

Oh how funny. I wandered over here from your Boise, Idaho video. I used to know Daniela years ago but we lost touch.
I'm remotely interested and wasn't there and am not from Idaho! But I'm (almost) from that era and love watching old skating vids from all eras.
strange to see the guys I used to go see in High school/early college (and went to high school and college with!) now as old men. It makes me worry about what I've become!
