I was over in the UK near Cambridge and popped in to CCH, quite a good Museum plenty to look at and interact with.

This was a great idea, far ahead of it's time and Sinclair knew it. It was supposed to lead to a battery powered car. We're only just there now. Shame it never worked out really - maybe we'd have those flying cars by now (see the end of BBC's 'Micro Men' 😉)

Love the video. What a treasure trove of computers. Every time I look at the QL, it is such a beautiful design. I had the QL, Spectrun 48k, ZX81 and the Sinclair Calculator. Wow! I remembered the CST Thor. Good memories.

Loved the video but the music overlay was just a bit too loud (couldn't hear the commentary). Pleased you uploaded.

The Sinclair C5 was not safe, durable or reliable. It was potentialy quite dangerous. My late father worked for Suffolk County Council Highways (as a road safety officer at the time). The leaflet handed out by "ROSPA" (for the C5) was a joke.

Oh yes........ They were the days. Me and my other half fondly remember all this stuff. We were only 13 year old kids at the time. We are now 52, teenage sweethearts back then, and still going strong. Goodness, how time has passed, and The Late Sir Clive Marles Sinclair is no longer with us. I am so glad I watched this video and you rescued these gems. My second home computer was a Sinclair QL which I bought when launched in the UK. This brings back many fond memories and was a machine ahead of it's time. I eventually sold it after a few years when the PC era came in, but I am glad I didn't throw it away. I sold it to a collector at the time in the early 1990s. What a machine that was, and such a beautifully looking design.

Had one of these when I lived in the UK for a year for school. Kept it to myself and never needed to deal with the battle of the group TV (I was on the top floor - a win for that antenna). Bought it at one of those cheesy electronics stores in NYC - would have been cheaper to buy it at Curry’s when I got to the country.

Hi, which prototype is which and which form factors? The the age of FM Towers, it was disappointing which way the QL went. It was never going to compete with the Amiga or full PC, but it was going to kick aas as a cheap alternative to PC, Spectrum and ST etc. They should have kept it simple, and maybe add 68000/68020 and a simple blitter and 3 inch drive by the time of the Sandy. Do lots of small business and retro games. All they needed to do is upgrade the design to take advantage of new cheap hardware. As it was. They could have made a C64 like priced machine, which small shops were using. These shops needed little more than good integrated packages and dual floppies. Cheaper than the more capable competition.

Sir Clive: * Modestly replies "no" and proceeds to accurately predict the next 30 years * When I visited London, England from Canada 5 years ago, I got serious theme park vibes (as in being in an expensive sanitized place no one can live in). Hearing them use the expression stunned me. His EV predictions would have been 100% bang on if California hadn't caved in and repealed the EV mandate.

why something from QL is run on Atari ST ? ..... it does not make any sense .... very slow, and simple not saying primitive i was using Mark Williams C compiler on ST, it was like Unix system for C compiler, RAD programing system with resources editor, graphics and lighting fast like Borland Delphi for Windows, but 15 years before Delphi .... or Alice Pascal compiler, programing language, incredibly fast, objective system ..... ..... why waste time on QL software as ZX updated software, taking superior Atari computer back in time .....
