Key Underwood buried his beloved dog Troop there in 1937. Other hunters started doing the same when their favorite coon dogs died. 😂...and they STILL can't figure out that there is only one North flowing river in West Alabama. It's the Chickasaw bouge creek. If you follow the Alabama river South from Selma to the first river system...you'll find that's the bogue. And if you traverse up the bogue about a mile you'll discover an old Indian site on the right. It's on Linden timber company property. Never been researched. Never been dug. Ya keep following the bogue North and you end up at Demopolis where the black warrior and tombigee conjoin. The great swamp DeSoto traversed is the swamp the runs from just over the bridge North of Demopolis alllll the way to just before Moundville. We won't talk about how many mounds there are in Marengo county. Most land owners will never tell you they're there anyway. I know there were three sites on my dad's place. Sites, not just mounds... Two woodland, one archaic. The archaic had fine earthenware with red and white paint. Woodland was purely functional. Woodland pottery ranged from clay mixed with sand to clay mixed with shell. But shhhh. Don't tell anyone! Lol
Wow!
Original from Selma, I was curious to know if there were any ghosts stories from my town. Now I will check to see if there are any tours are available for those properties on my next visit.
Boring
I miss Gip’s Place. Saw Williams perform this song this morning on Talk of Alabama and immediately had to find it! Thank you for posting this video 😂❤
Wow!! Glorious!!! Thank you!
Thank you, great video
Ga. went to Washington and had the river border moved to the high-water mark. So, Alabama could not use the river for manufacturing.

Why would you say De Soto didn’t explore Alabama? It’s documented in his journal. What evidence have you seen to support your theory?

I don't think he is on Facebook anymore.

I did a report on him in the 6th grade. I got an A+ for how in-depth it was. I spent over a month going thru every book I could find on him.
Cool story ❤
Is he playing through a MG?
For all the barbarity against Native Americans in the 16th century, what justification can we come up with for the barbarity that visited them in the late 19th century. We have barely shuffled out of the caves as the human race.
