Andrew, you obviously have no knowledge of how shingles are constructed if the aggregate is knocked off and the shingle is exposed it deteriorates rapidly. Rain doesn’t do this. Hail does.

How do you know for fact that the contractor is there "to influence the inspection..."? Another thing, a contractor is never there "representing the policy holder". The contractor is an expert in everything roofing and that includes damage from hail or wind. If this inspection was conducted properly, it would be an engineer conducting the inspection and not an adjuster. An adjuster only knows how to write up estimates and has no business determining whether a roof is damaged or not.

A lot of waste and pollution to make shingles. Whoever invents a procedure to repair hail damage quickly without replacing roof will become rich.

I know this is a crazy question but what about dogs?I am afraid of most outside dogs.

If the gutters still do the job, why replace them? I personally hate waste and this seems so wasteful.

This was a great walk through. I'm moving from a desk position to a hybrid field/desk position. I've never done field work so this has been helpful. I have one question though. Generally, when looking for hail on soft metals, you'll chalk across showing the indentation. Would that not work for the indentation in the shingles? Like why not drag the chalk down the shingle to identify that there is a depression and the damage is not from blistering? Again, thank you for the How-To!!

If every adjuster was like her Adjusters/Homeowners/Contractors would live in almost perfect harmony.

One day the insurance companies will no longer cover roofs because of hail. Why? Its to expensive for them to cover. This will one day put ABC Supply / Beacon etc out of business. This roof is trashed. Its beat up.

Adjusters are the worst. Why do they even bother getting on the roof? They are just going to make up some BS so they can deny the claim. I put you people on par with scammers in an Indian call center. How you guys look yourself in the mirror with ANY self respect, I don't know...

How long does it generally take to complete the course

I've been shadowing an adjuster, he drove out 1 hour, spent 30 mins at the resident's house, drove back an hour, sat at the computer for half hour. 700 bucks in his pocket. Does this about twice a week lol.

That tool belt must hold a lot of chalk to be necessary.

I live in a state that doesn’t license (Missouri) so I got my Florida license first. When the application asks for my resident state do I enter Missouri or Florida?

Highly recommended: always inspect your roof after a hail storm. If you can’t get on your roof, find someone who can. Some companies have 12 or 24 months after a hailstorm to file a claim. Your claim may be denied if pass this period. I learned this the hard way..... Areas to inspect; Primary your Roof, Vents, Gutters and Down Spouts, Siding, window screens, doors, ac units, take photos of hail size, record date and time and if possible direction hail fell. Keep your roof safe. All the best.
