    Good video. Still wish they'd offer an option on that background. I have vision issues and literally cannot read the white on black, so I'm stuck using a 2010 version of PPT so cannot ever use a facility's computer. :)

      I continue to think about the situation. And have some convoluted way to turn on Windows Accessibility feature of "COLOR FILTERS" and the selection of a color combo. This will let you alter how PowerPoint PRESENTER looks but the downside is that it will also alter the color scheme of your PowerPoint presentation. Should this be an option (not all companies will let you alter the facility's computer), you could then design a presentation color scheme to work when COLOR FILTERS is enabled. Reach out to me if this is of interest.

    I would like to learn to use 3 monitors while conducting zoom meetings. My zoom audience on the center monitor, my slide show on the right monitor that I would share and the slide controls on the left monitor.

    • @PowerUpTraining
      @PowerUpTraining Před měsícem

      @karenerichards9351, before you start Zoom, do you already have the PowerPoint Left and Right monitor working they way you want? Once configured, you should then be able to start Zoom and when it comes time to present, select SHARE and share the specific SCREEN, not the app. That way you can choose the screen with the presentation. Let me know how that works out.

    Heres a method to get it for free. I got it too All you have to do to is become a developer in Microsoft (or idk it was something like this). You get 365 for free and all you have to do is submit a report twice a year. It's been 2 years since i have it and all i do is click random option when they ask me to give them an improvement tip. Thats all (Idk if this would work in 2024)

    • @PowerUpTraining
      @PowerUpTraining Před měsícem

      You would think with all the money that Microsoft is investing in AI, that they could add some "intelligent" error message on why DESIGNER Icon is grayed out and how to fix it. As it is now, it is just guessing on what black magic is missing. Sigh . . .

    • @PowerUpTraining
      @PowerUpTraining Před měsícem

      Thanks for noticing. I continue experimenting with expanding how to educate standard software video instruction with visuals, audio, and storyline. The journey of learning “filmmaking” has been long. I start by creating an outline “script” to storyboard what I am trying to teach. Then, I record the video walkthrough with the screen capture software of CAMTASIA. Next, the speaking script is written to match the recorded computer screen video. Noting in the written script where to be looking to reference different parts of the monitor screen to simulate that I am recording the video and screen capture at the same time (which I am not doing). Practice, practice, and then on to headshot video shooting. My spare bedroom studio has several background color LED lights projected to a gray backdrop. And then, for video recording, I use three networked Panasonic Lumix BGH1 box cameras each with a different focal length. Plus a separate microphone, just out of view Turn the cameras on and record. Next, the three recorded video files will be edited in multicam mode in DaVINCI RESOLVE using iZOTOPE RX10 audio tool cleanup. Take the audio and video headshot video back into the screen recorded CAMTASIA and finish up adding the screen zoom, text overlays, pointers and more. All using CAMTASIA. All in all, it is a considerable time commitment. However, I enjoy the process of making my mini-films for others to learn from.

      @talongenxr7799, to this day, I remember the struggle I too had. While I appreciate the SUBSCRIBE, just a heads up that I have pivoted from deep server tech videos (as a sys admin for over 20 years) to primarily Microsoft Office focused videos. Which may or may not be of value to you.

    • @PowerUpTraining
      @PowerUpTraining Před 2 měsíci

      @catmanbluz, troubleshooting over CZcams is hard. But I am 85% sure I know what happened. If you did get the video for Ocean, then it is working correctly. The key is to start with a BLANK presentation. If you rewrite the title after getting a video, then it will not work the second time on the same presentation. Open a new Blank Presentation. I just tried dog, man, cat and numbers. All worked. However, the suggestion for GIRL and WOMAN (or even WOMEN) were lame and not relevant.

    Can I do everything possibly in Camtasia instead of PowerPoint? It has quizzing too.

    • @PowerUpTraining
      @PowerUpTraining Před 2 měsíci

      Camtasia is a great content editing and creation tool. I use it to do my screen capture and enhancements for these CZcams tutorials. But for a straight-on presentation, PowerPoint is hard to beat.

    • @rajsuthar999
      @rajsuthar999 Před 2 měsíci

      @@PowerUpTraining But I find a few things missing - 1. The e-learning content needs essentially a quiz. 2. Animations and transitions cannot be just a drag & drop thing. 3. Timeline manipulation is quirky. 4. On grouping and sections, aninations can't be applied. 5. Interactivity with hyperlinks and buttons needs a load of knowledge. 6. Applying arrows & cursor effects, highlighting parts of image and cropping & trimming media , audio effects is a great task. Storing them for future use in a library, a placeholder, chroma effect are still things Microsoft has to look into. Imagine the days without the morph transition. Oh! Even a novice like a school pupil can make a quick decent presentation in Camtasia, I believe. Rest, you're an expert. 👍

    • @PowerUpTraining
      @PowerUpTraining Před 2 měsíci

      PowerPoint excels at presenting ideas in a professional setting. However, Camtasia is far superior in creating e-learning content. I totally agree; and I live in Camtasia for all my CZcams elearning videos. The controls for video content is OUTSTANDING. (Two other tools in my video creation is Davinci Resolve for video editing / color correction and a suite of iZotope for audio editing/cleanup . . . but they are EXPENSIVE.)

    Does anyone know of a clicker like the Spotlight Presentation Remote that also has a traditional laser pointer? In my use of the Spotlight remote, there have been times when I missed having the physical laser remote in case I need to point to anyone NOT on the screen. I'd ideally like to have a clicker/pointer that offers both a digital pointer and traditional laser pointer.

      I don’t think so, but you might explore. Based on a web search here are some recent presentation handheld pointers (the summary is not mine): 1. DINOSTRIKE Presentation Clicker: Offers a unique finger ring concept for a hands-free experience, easy-to-understand controls for page navigation and screen functions, and compatibility with various operating systems and popular presentation software. 2. It is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS X. 3. Logitech Spotlight: Elevates presentations with its digital highlighting system, allowing for precise highlighting or magnification of specific areas on the screen. It requires the use of the Logitech presentation app. 4. Targus - Wireless Presenter with Laser Pointer: A battery-powered device that can be used to point out important information in a crowded room or for educational purposes. 5. Logitech R500s Laser Presentation Remote Clicker: A wireless presenter with a laser pointer, suitable for presentations and lectures. 6. Kensington K33374EUB Wireless Presenter: A wireless presenter with a laser pointer, designed for presentations and lectures. 7. Logitech 910-005749 Spotlight Presentation Remote: A presentation remote with a spotlight feature, allowing for precise highlighting of information on the screen. 8. I did some poking around and can confirm that the transition sounds are lost, even if you export "with narration." Do a search of "what are some free windows screen recorder tools"

    I have a 3 screen set up, and I want to have my desktop on 1, and the notes and presentation on either 2 or 3 (doesn't matter which). When I do this setup in the video though, the presentation notes always come up on monitor 1 (unless I have forced my presentation to be on 1, in which case the notes come up on 2). Help!?

    You are a saint! It is shocking PowerPoint does not have a skew/distortion/perspective crop tool yet. It is the only step in my workflow (teaching architecture history to multiple grade levels) that takes me outside of PowerPoint. I will be using this workaround, as Photoshop can still take longer/creates unnecessary files on my laptop.

      It is a shame that Microsoft has not done this yet. However, after almost a decade, I now see Microsoft adding some new features; but will they just focus are clever new tricks or fix a major deficiency as photo editing? Thanks for commenting!

    Hi I tried using sections but it’s still just applying to all the power points even though I have 2 different sections on both normal and slide master. Thanks

    • @PowerUpTraining
      @PowerUpTraining Před 4 měsíci

      @timmills6475, to test this out, work with a COPY of an existing slide show with multiple slides. 1) Open up the DESIGN ribbon menu (this is just be ready to apply a new design . . . not a critical step). 2) Go to the Slide Sorter view 3) Create three or four sections to test with 4) CRITICAL: Click *_ON_* the section name and then apply a new design Clicking on any random slide will impact the whole collection; but clicking on the Section NAME should limit it to just that section. Let me know how that works out.

    Thanks a lot for this session. One question that I would ask is that there is a setting where you can go through the presentations whit zoom but only using the arrow. This is not having to click on one zoom slide, but only using the forward and backward arrows throughout the whole presentaion.

    • @PowerUpTraining
      @PowerUpTraining Před 4 měsíci

      Brian, as far as I know that is NOT possible. The reason is that the ZOOM click spot are hot spots to make the jump. And since you can have multiple ZOOM hot spots on a single slide, the arrow key would not know which one to execute. So a click of the mouse on the hot zoom slide is needed.

    Could you please show how you use the Logitech Remote with Google Slides? I only see videos showing to add Remote for Slides to Google Chrome, then they show how to use your phone, but I do not see how to use the Logitech Remote. Thank you.

    • @PowerUpTraining
      @PowerUpTraining Před 5 měsíci

      I am not a regular Google Slides presenter, but I did just fire up a presentation and launched it into slide show mode. With the Logitech software already installed on my PC, the Logitech Spotlight Remote would 1) advance the slide, 2) reverse the slide with the matching buttons and even show the "spotlight" on screen laser pointer that could then be moved with hand motions by waving the remote around. @danstrage4507, if there is a specific function you are looking for beyond the basics, let me know, and I can try it out.

  • @jpl980

    This has been super helpful to watch. Thanks for putting this video together because the Logitech site's description is not super clear. I also don't quite understand the usefulness of the timer/clock. I feel like a watch works fine. Also, personally, I find Bluetooth to be much more reliable than USB connections because in some venues, I've noticed some of their clickers or equipment can interfere with a USB/presenter connection, which has never happened to me with a Bluetooth connection.

    • @PowerUpTraining
      @PowerUpTraining Před 5 měsíci

      @jpl980, I agree about the timer/clock. The last time I used that feature was when creating the video. While displaying the time on the presenter view is worthless, I suspect having a "5-minute" timer when you have a STRICK time limit to present. It could have a 1-minute time-left warning. But in real life, I have never used it. On USB vs Bluetooth. Presenting in strange venues always scares the heck out of me with so many things outside of my control. If Bluetooth works for you (and you are not that far from the presenting computer), then go with it!

    • @edf108
      @edf108 Před 2 měsíci

      Aren't both types of connections Bluetooth? The only difference is if you are using the Bluetooth built into the laptop, or if you are using the Bluetooth in the USB dongle. Perhaps you are saying that the position of the Bluetooth antennae built into the laptop works better, where as depending where the Bluetooth USB dongle is plugged in, it might partially block the signal?

    • @PowerUpTraining
      @PowerUpTraining Před 2 měsíci

      I am quite sure that the dongle is NOT Bluetooth. Looking on the Logitech website, they refer to some unnamed "Advanced 2.4 GHz wireless technology." They state it is both faster responding and longer range. I have no scientific radio testing equipment, so I can't confirm. Other than getting great distance results when on the dongle.

    Alt + F5 did not do anything in presenter mode or in editing mode, it just highlighted keyboard shortscuts on menu items and then wouldnt let me use those shortkeys. lol. I dont have much faith in this tutorial as of yet!

    • @PowerUpTraining
      @PowerUpTraining Před 5 měsíci

      On a Windows computer, this should work (see official Microsoft description at the bottom of this reply). What is happening is the ALT key is activating the menu shortcuts before you can activate the F5. Which you observed. HERE IS THE TRICK: *Try HOLDING DOWN THE F5 key ***_first_* , and then tap the ALT key.* support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/use-keyboard-shortcuts-to-deliver-powerpoint-presentations-1524ffce-bd2a-45f4-9a7f-f18b992b93a0#:~:text=Maneuver%20in%20Presenter%20View,-You%20can%20use&text=To%20start%20a%20presentation%20in,and%20select%20the%20preferred%20monitor.
