Do I have this correct, Platonists know of a chair through its essence, ignoring sensory input, but when he is released from his cave he 'sees' a chair (via sensory input) and now fully understand the actual chair and it's essence? I'm confused, or was Platowho was?

Hello Jesus is the Messiah The Son of God The Son of David The Son of man The man God has chosen to be his anointed king The man God will judge the world through The man God raised from the dead Jesus has a God There is no triune god in scripture Jesus said the Father is the only true God! John 17 3 And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. - Acts 3 13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Servant Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had determined to release him. 14 But ye denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted unto you, 15 and killed the Prince of life; whom God raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. Notice Jesus is NOT the God of Abraham 13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Servant Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.

Durham and Jarrow were seats of learning when Oxford was a field and Cambridge was a swamp.

So appreciate that you use actual behavioral objectives! The content of your lectures is important to me. Have been a "fan" of RC Sproul for some time and appreciate his and your reminder and explanation of our Ancient and Medieval intellectual heritage.

I have been to the USA and I have been to China. The sense of exceptionalism is similar.

Is it just me? I confess, while I have been up in it, I just don’t get the London Eye visually. But, once again, what a wonderful city! Noting some of your themes, I hope you also got to the other key cog in “Oxbridge,” as Cambridge is a fascinating city as well. “The Backs” as the marvelous green lawns behind the colleges are called, are beautiful; “punting” there is by far the best. From the “Little Round Church,” you can take a walking tour that highlights the key figures of the Reformation Movement in Cambridge (the more Protestant city historically, as even those arrested for the heresy of translating the text into English and advocating a view different from the official one were taken to Oxford, the more Catholic city, to be burned at the stake. (You may have found the in-street monument to the place they were burned, as it is not that far from The Eagle and the Child. I am not sure if it is accessible, but a key figure to Bible translation is memorialized in a full length portrait in a small room near an ancient dining room in Queens College, Cambridge, with its stone floors rutted from centuries of students walking across them. Erasmus, Dutch Christian who is likely the greatest scholar of the northern Renaissance, who used his humanist training to prepare new Latin and Greek editions of the New Testament. In the “conference room with his portrait, you see his importance to the history of Queens (student), other aspects of academia at Cambridge, where he eventually was head of one of the colleges (I forget which). The next generation were then fully equipped to translate from more substantial Greek and Latin texts into English.

Enjoyed (not wishing to run through the mud & other “natural conditions” but interesting)! Not a part of Europe I have seen, so it too was enticing. Other than one trip to Stockholm, I have not been north of Belgium on the continent. Fun video!

I am dreaming of a return for Oxbridge 2020! Since my first visit in 1998, I view Oxbridge as my heart’s true home. Thank you for the reminder; I hear the winds of Oxford calling. (Although it is hard to believe the little pond Jack and Warnie often swam nude in (so isolated) has become what it now is. Back to nature (at least when I was last there in 2014) has been impacted by human pollution!

Durham University was founded in the early 19th Century - at least 600 years after Cambridge (though there was a "Durham College" in Oxford during the middle ages). It is even debatable if Durham is England's 3rd oldest university - some claim it was UCL, which was founded around about the same time.
