While I see what your trying to do here, it is sort of click bait to say this is his trick when you dont know that he plays a 5 string guitar tuned to open G, not D. But yeah, he reduces his chords to triads, which is what you are working with here. Nice PRS

Are you playing Brown Sugar? All you are doing is playing the classic blues chord there. Amped up it sounds okay, yes. There are other ways of playing this correctly using barre chords or even double or triple stops.
Always multiple options on the guitar. Classic blues chord, not sure about that.

Keith's other secret guitar trick --- he had Charlie Watts on drums. Keith could come up with a great riff and then Charlie would create a fantastic drum part like "Honky Tonk Women" and so many others.

The Allman Brothers version of Stormy Monday uses similar chords to produce a really laid back, sultry kind of feel to the blues. This song taught me about 9th chords, etc.
