At first I was absolutely devastated to find that the bucket was leaking but it was orgasmic euphoria to my ears to hear that the bucket is no longer leaking!

if it is a small leak just let the water swell it up alwas keep wood from drying out

staves need to be cut at the right pitch...glue staves..water swells the wood to stop any small leak

yes you can use that to cut chime but router makes one smooth cut..
When cutting the grove (I think called the chime) for the head, why not use a table saw for those of us without a router.

any kind of wood ..what you mean about braces?
Will your method cause the barrel to be way heavier and have less capacity? Instead of a curved piece of wood, it is flat on the inside.
Andrew E yes it does..but i have a jig that you can use to cut the inside of stave if you want to put liquid in them but these barrels in video are for decor only...or you can use barrels for liquid just little less capacity
Gotcha. I want to make a 3 small barrels that each fit into each other like Russian dolls from maybe 8 - 12 inches in height. Do you suggest a certain kind of wood and what to use as the braces for something that small?
