Absolutely correct. It prevents the yips. Greatest thing ever happened to my game when I made that a habit. Seems like I can’t miss when I get low/stay low. It’s really amazing!! One more thing, it does take a little more energy, so when I get tired, instead of hitting an upright forehand (which is a bad habit), I will just play casual forehand chips/slices which require less effort. Once I regain some energy, I go back to get low/stay low.

My first serve is inconsistent like 4/10 balls would go in. And I haven't figured out the second serve properly. 😂
I love hitting low balls. I hit them very hard with minimal topspin. Looks very different to what you are showing, no knee bends. But my eastern grip is perfect for this. Probably impossible with semiwestern or western.
if don't want to get that low, can try the forehand slice; especially for the short balls.

Thank you sir. The western forehand grip slice visualisation in order to hit flat is a gem. Coaching is about finding the optimal way of transmitting knowledge to a specific person. (99% of so called coaches do not even understand what they're doing, let alone optimizing ways to transmit it. They can only get results with very young children who naturally mimic and do not go through any thought process).

The eastern grip for singles rec players, and the continental for doubles rec players-handles junk and slow balls steadier, and lobs easily without telegraphing, since it doesn't require a straight arm swing. But remove the buttcap like Laver did for a wristy shot or you'll never get it.

I have always struggled with being late on my forehand. This is super helpful and easy to implement. Seeing excellent improvement after just a few days. All of Pieter’s videos are simple & excellent.

The modern backswing makes the eastern grip more than competitive with the flatter continental, which I switched from simply because of better high ball control. Without this video I wouldn't have made the switch. Thank You, Pieter!

Your demo swings and actual swings look completely different to me. Watch at .25 speed or slower. Especially the movement of the wrist. Your actual serves look great. The demos? Not so much.

More specifically the amount of flexion in the wrist. I like a flexion in the wrist at address. Perhaps not as much as Raonic though😮. Yeah. Why do pros always get a popping sound of the ball quickly expanding but most coaches get a lame twang sound ?! Looks like the racquet head speed would be enough…Is it the strings? Tension?
