Here’s my 2020 Poseidon X. This model came with a Microshift 2x drivetrain with an 11-34 cassette, 46/34 up in front and it’s been perfect. Best decision I ever made. Yo bro, i have the 2021 model, its sitting at 700x35c wheelset. how wide do you think i can go with the stock rims. you think the stock rims can handle 42c just fine ? lmk brotha. stay safe out there.
I fitted 700x42c just fine on the stock rims before I upgraded my wheel set.

@@raijuventures I haven’t done Fullerton loop yet but I always run 40psi in the back and 35 in the front when I’m hitting dirt.

I do this ride every month! You guys should have back tracked from the Mt. Hollywood Dr. fire road and took the downhill on the Vista Del Valle Dr. fire road which is rougher and more fun on the downhill especially on a gravel bike! I never see any of the regular roadies take this route going down! :-D

Hey, I’m looking into the Poseidon X as my first bike purchase. I haven’t been on a bike in forever and have no experience in customizing a bike. I was wondering if you have made any upgrades to your Poseidon X, or is it just as great out of the box?
Hey, yes the current Poseidon X bikes are great out of the box. I’ve put over 1000 miles on this bike in less than a year and it’s been a workhorse. Most things I changed on my bike are more just personal preference. The only thing I did upgrade were my wheels so that I could go tubeless but that was just a few weeks ago. I’ve had this bike since last April.

Thanks for posting. I don’t see many vids of single track riding with a gravel bike. Are you still using the stock Kenda small block tires? If not, what are you using now?
Mag Nate the tires I’m using are 700x42mm specialized pathfinder pros. Rolling tubeless also and they have been flawless so far.
@@bluestarboy52 nice! Good to know. Any concern with cornering grip? I was considering those but went with Soma Cazadero 700x50 for a little more chunk on my Specialized Diverge. It’s really more like a 700x47 though. I just installed them and looking forward to hitting some single track this weekend.
Mag Nate I’ve had no problems so far with cornering grip either just make sure you running the correct psi on your tires. You should be fine with 50mm’s. Those are awesome tires. The bigger the better for rougher stuff.
@@bluestarboy52 I just got my x last week. Did you set the factory wheels up tubeless? I know the website says they are not tubeless compatible but I know that's a little subjective.
@@caseycartwright9509 I did set up the factory wheels tubeless for awhile, but do this at your own risk, I had a failure on the front tire coming down off a small jump, landed on my front wheel and the bead unseated. My head slammed into the dirt. Helmet saved me right there. I’ve since upgraded to Hunt Wheels. If you just cruising around and not ripping trails hard it’s fine, but if you are doing some rough, fast or technical stuff I would definitely get tubeless compatible wheels.

You riding the 2021 Poseidon X? I'm really interested in getting it, but I've never had a 1x drivetrain and wonder if it's hard finding a good cadence compared to a 2x if I'm in a group ride.
I actually have the 2020 model that came with a 2x drivetrain so I can’t speak on the 2021 one. Sorry man.
can you go fast on the 1x10 speed?
Chaboosy this one is the 2020 model which came with a 2x, but I have ridden the new 2021 model and it’s quite fast, just not as fast as a 2x system

Thanks for watching! Haha no, I’ve done some upgrades to make the bike fit me better and for more comfort (shorter stem, flared drop bars, new seat, 700x42 tubeless tires). Other than that everything else is stock. I have the 2020 one and it’s a hell of a bike. The newer ones are even sweeter.

Yeah I just got my 2021 and itching for a ride. Already comes with the flared drop bars. Definitely need a new seat and shorter stem though
