My channel features a variety of hits, instrumentals and hard to find versions of songs from the 1970's, 80's, 90's, with a few from the early 2000's. One attribute that is unique to this channel is that you won't hear the songs fade out like you do on the regular recordings. This is done intentionally so that you can hear the entire song till the very end. I take a lot of pride in my audio production and have thirty years of experience. Former radio announcer, commercial production and station imaging in Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, and South Florida.
Starship - Sara (1985 LP Version) HQ
"Sara" is a power ballad recorded by the American rock band Starship. It was sung by Mickey Thomas, of the newly renamed band Starship, from their first album Knee Deep in the Hoopla, and Grace Slick who provided the backing vocals. The song was written by Austrian composer, producer, songwriter and arranger Peter F. Wolf and his then wife Ina Wolf.
"Sara" was released in December 1985 and reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on March 15, 1986. The recording became one of the best-selling singles of 1986 in North America. It was the band's second number-one hit after the song "We Built This City" hit that mark a few months earlier in 1985. It also became the band's first #1 song on the Adult Contemporary chart, where it remained for three weeks. It also reached #1 in Canada. Although written by Peter and Ina Wolf, the song was named for Sara (née Kendrick), Mickey Thomas's wife at the time.

I've always loved this song since its release in the U.S in 85. But being the extraordinary story teller that Sade is, I've always wondered why she never mentioned New York City in Smooth Operator. To me, all of her songs on her debut album has that "New York City " feel" to it. Even if a person wasn't born , raised, or don't live there. I'm not implying that New York City is all that, but it just fits Smooth Operator and all the other songs more so than Los Angeles where I live and Chicago and Key Largo for what ever reason. Just saying.
