VICTORIA VESSEL - An experimental GLULAM urban furniture - Timber Pavilion Design
# Timber Pavilion
'Victoria Vessel' seeks to tell the tale of Hong Kong’s magnificent maritime history and celebrate the naval icons of Victoria Harbour. The spatial narrative of the design will provide an interactive, unique and attractive social node, thus strengthening engagement with the community and delivering a positive and innovative experience to visitors.
The furniture aims to promote use of mass timber and structural timber in Hong Kong, where it is a city straightly controlled by codes. 'Victoria Vessel' tries to explore the possibility, functionality, sustainability and constructability of timber in Hong Kong's humid, hot, and safety prioritised situation.
Reminding the general public how can we protect our beautiful harbour from commercial development, and how design and change the quality of urban environment.

    • @ab8jeh

Usually the final construction is not the point, it's the process of making it where the student learns how to coordinate building something complex.
