What if the noise is on the passenger side?
Wow, it worked like magic , went through a few garages, and everyone came up with different solutions. Nothing worked.
I am glad it helped 👍
pls help i removed the boot but cannot get it to fit back on correctly ! seems impossible!
I got the squeaking sound, i am planning to repair on next mot service that is june 2024, does it give any give serous driving problem, please reply and how much it cost to repair it. Thanks 🙏
Hi, hi if you ignire for too long might cause more harm to the nuckle but not 100% sure , the cost to repair this issue you would need to go t9 a garage in your area and get a quote i have no idea how much it is where you are from
Helpful, thanks!
Spot on great video! Thats exactly the squeaking noise I'm getting! Hopefully mine will be an easy fix! 🙏🏻 Update... took off panel cover used a screwdriver to open up the rubber boot from the top "no need to remove rubber boot which is a nightmare to get back on" I used silicon lubricant sprayed from the top of the rubber boot. Problem solved! Thanks again! Great video!
I’m 90% sure I read the same forum post as you man
wish I had read this comment before I yanked the seal off, It's such a pain to get back on, so much so that I gave up

Will this make the steering a bit lighter as well?
Not really it would make it as it was before the squeaking came up
Works! Thank you
How did you put that rubber back on the blue ring?
You need to play around with it and strech it out around the ring
very good video, i was thinking its coming from the top. thank you
God bless you bro I went thru two pumps tryna fix this noise and I did as you said and now no noise wanna buy you a beer ! 🍻 🔥💯
Thanks bro , glad it helped you ,Good luck with thw car .
I've got this issue on a 318 d
I tried this in a e87 1 series 2011. I found out that the squeak, exactly the same as yours, was coming from the rubber cover itself. Greased both the cover lips and the bearing. Thank you for pointing at the right direction.
No problem , glad to help .
You are a star mate, thank you
Hello!! You nailed it,my car has just that problem and it is true,I was convinced the noise was from somewhere around the steering wheel but it is from down there! I am on to it!Thanks a lot!
No probelm , happy i was able to help , good luck with the car mate .
Holy shit Thank You!!!
Fair play to ya bud, I was convinced the noise was at the top behind the steering wheel...? I would've bet a months wages! But I decided to try your method and even though I could hear it at the steering wheel while head first into the driver's side footwell I was amazed when finished that the bastarding squeaking noise was completely gone! Solved! Fixed! Sorted👏👏👏👍👍 a simple spray with Motul spray lube did the job just fine.... I'll say one thing though, I'll probably be spraying grease the next time and down behind the rubber boot from the top with a long straw should be well enough to achieve the same results?? I will not be removing or lifting off the boot in future! what a disaster trying to get the boot back over the blue bearing housing? and then back into the recess also was another total melt!🤦♂️🤦♂️ it's just too awkward and fiddly to be messing in and around down there! But yeh if your steering wheel is squeaking like fuck and sounds like the clock spring or summat is gonna snap or break this is the method that works a treat! Thanks again bud for the tips and best of luck with the channel I'll be subscribing because I got decent helpful information that worked! 👍
Happy it helped solve your problem bud ! Yeah that boot cover is a pain in the a*** to get back but there is a certain way to fit it back that goes in a bit easier . Yeah when il have more spare time i will make a few more video about other common problems with other cars ! Thanks pal.
Thanks for the tip in not removing the boot. I lifted the bottom just a smidge with a flathead screwdriver and lead with it. Pushed it forward and up a bit allowing the straw from the liquid grease to have some access. Sprayed in the general vicinity and it worked. For anyone wondering, it's a Torch T15 for the three screws.
Why did you say that well eventually have to get it replaced? Will anything bad happen if we don’t replace it?
Not really its just that it could wear out to a level where grease might not help again
i think i fixed mine
USE SPRAY GREASE like Wurth hhs-2000
I’m guessing this would work on the e82 ?
It could if the setup is the same
It worked! I appreciate you!
Thank you , i am glad i was able to help !
What is that part called
Yes, I would like to know what's the part's name or part number. Can just change that bearing instead of whole entire thing? Mine also facing this issue.
did you find out what part is called or whole assembly? thanks
did anyone find out?
WD-40, as most people know it, is not a lubricant. Instead use lithium grease. And confusingly enough, there is WD-40 lithium grease spray which will work. Just don’t use the stuff you’d use to loosen a rusty bolt.
Used it on a number of cars and worked well but as i said a grease lubricant will work best , thanks anyways .
Did you remove that noise? I have a same problem...
Hi yeah it solved the noise problem , on a few of my bmws , however if it does not solve the noise , then you might have to replace the part
@@TDmafia what is the part called cant find it :( ??
thank you for the advice ...gonna try it right now.. cheers..
what are the signs of damage? At my 1.7 cdti the engine enters high speed 4-5 tys. Only turning off the engine helps.
Hi, There are a few signs of a faulty Mass Air Flow Meter MAF sensor , the most common one is where the car has an unstable or a rough idle when cold and sometimes when warm , if that hapens one way to check is to leave the car on and dicconect the MAF sensor , and if the idol is stable , then thats the cause of the problem , also scan your car with an OBD scanner and it will tell you if its the maf or other problem .
@@TDmafia thank you for the information. at the moment the car is showing two errors ECN 050074, ECN 161450. errors popped up when I pressed the accelerator pedal and the shoe pedal. the engine enters revs in various situations, warm, cold, at a standstill, while driving, when changing gear.
@@kingarakoczy1221 unsure what the codes mean , just google them, but there is no harm in sinply cleaning your maf even if its good , as long as you clean it with the right spray ,and not too much . Thanks
turn phone sideways please can hardly see what you are doing
You Neva show us what spry to use mate
There are a number of types of sprays you can use but i go for holts electric contact cleaner .
