Thanks for the feedback. I didn't have my microphone available. I could hear it fine when I turned it up a little, but I'll make sure not to post any videos without the mic.
Great video, the echo made it harder to hear you clearly.
Sorry about that. I will make sure to use the microphone from now on. I noticed that turning it up a little cleared it up for me, but it may depend on the speakers as well. I'll see if I can equalize it.
if oils from coffee were evaporating away, then the roasting process would already have done that. It makes no sense for it to suddenly start happening after roasting and allowing it to sit around. more likely is that oxidation reactions are changing the flavor as the coffee is exposed to air after being roasted. As for the oils, I bet most of those are trapped inside the bean itself.
Interesting input. Thank you for contributing.
I thought it was going to be a murder story.
Oh wow! I hope you're kidding. This is a channel about fresh roasted coffee.
Of course 👍
I would like to see more actual footage of the brewing and setup the switch etc, and not slide shows of stock photos keep up the good work
Thank you for the feedback and the vote of confidence. Have you had a chance to see my other brewing tutorials? I do it step by step with you. Let me know if you have any questions!
Good info
Thanks for watching! Try our coffee
Is that coffee?
Yes, it's a great brewer called the Aeropress. It's very versatile. Watch my video about it. You'll see.
Coffee kills you.......
haha. Thanks for the comment.
You tha shi man! Glad I found this video. You are awesome 😎
Thank you. I'm glad you like it.
…love the mornings, love waking up to the aroma of coffee.
Morning coffee is da best! Thanks for watching.
Let's blend them ... Liberica, Excelsa, Arabica and Robusta
That would be gnarly!
This dude is the real deal. Discovered the magic of coarse grinds to prevent bitterness, and why burr is needed for consistency.
Nice, gnatinator! Thanks for the compliment and glad you're getting some good info to make your coffee better. Happy day!
Thanks for this tips, man. Just recently learned how important grinding size is after I just bought my blade grinder. I'm just beginning my way through specialty coffee with a Moka Pot and I was struggling on getting the best flavor out of my coffee with what I have right now. Do you think it is better to shake the grinder while grinding or is it better to shake it with pauses as you did on the video?. Anyway...thanks again and hopefully this will help me get a better flavor.

Grind then shake. How's the coffee coming out?
Coffee just tastes and smells amazing, glad it is also good for me.
Yeah, coffee a wonder drink.
I finally understand the point of blooming
That's awesome! I'm glad the video conveyed it well. How's your coffee been coming out?
Nice video, pretty cool and versatile super automatic, beautiful too
It's easy peasy. That's for sure.
Great video fun and informative, nicely done
Thank you! I appreciate that.
Very helpful, thank you very much!
Hi Ted. Love the no-waffle delivery... Just the facts. Very informative. Since the different beans in a blend will likely be different sizes, densities, moisture level, etc, is it reasonable to pre-blend then roast unless I suppose you're really looking to bring out very specific names of each bean type?
Yeah, you can do that. Thanks for the compliment and feedback.
This was great! Do you sell any unroasted blends? I'm getting into roasting on a skillet.
Glad you like the content! No, I don't sell unroasted coffee.
That is the older Bonavita without the pre-infusion. That one is still a good coffee maker.
It works great!
Nice video, thank you!
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it.
thank you for making this, only video I found breaking down this untouchable combo
You're welcome! Glad you liked it.
thank for the videos. after a year do you still recommend this machine.
Yeah, it works great.
yum

I don't know why the milk froth function puts only water in the cup. The cappuccino function is ok but it always puts some water in cup before milk. I have milk almost to max, I don't know what am I doing wrong.
It's just from the steam condensing back into water. You can wait a second to put the cup under it, but I find that's more trouble than it's worth.
What was the total time for the machine to dispense the entire 6 cup marked amount of water? Or, what is the average time for that entire volume to be dispensed, based on your experience with the bonavita machine?
A few minutes. You can set a timer to see exactly. It's paced pretty well.
That's genius with the Chemex. Thanks for the tip, def going to try it!
instablaster.
That's awesome! Let me know how it goes.
For those who don’t make that many milk beverages, just buy the Velasca Black. Save $350, same great coffee. For milk drinks, ditch the included Pannarello wand and get the Gaggia / Saeco “Latte Art” wand for superior results.
Thanks for building on that.
Awesome. Keep it going 👍
Will do! Glad you like it.
Boosting my immune system right now as I listen to your you tube talk!
Definitely drinking coffee and getting exercise to boost that immune system!
That's the way to go. Enjoying coffee while watching the videos.
The grind is everything! I notice a huge difference when using different grinds. Keep giving us your expert advice.
Absolutely! huge difference.
Thanks Ted, very informative. What percentages of each coffee do you use in your house blend? You mentioned Brazil and Guatemala as the basic for your house. Is more Guatemala than Brazil or vice versa?
Good question. I was just talking about house blends as a concept. I suggest Brazil or Guatemala because they're both crowd pleasing and that's generally what someone is looking for with a house coffee. I don't actually have a house blend currently on my menu. I'm glad you find my content informative. There's lots more to look at and much more coming. Are you creating your own blends?
I like the way you use metaphors to explain how a good coffee is made in such a clear way. Very informative video, thank you!
Awesome, Gabriel! I'm glad you like it.. You can go to my website for a lot more info and see the coffees I currently have on the menu. If you'd like to try them I'll ship them to you just roasted within days of ordering. Super primo! Cheers
Good explanation about acid and flavor profiles of different beans.
Thanks for the nice feedback.
I’ve saved so much money making coffee at home this year with fresh amazing Riverview Coffee! Drinking it now!!
That's awesome, Meghan!! Thanks for watching. I appreciate your enthusiasm. It really does save a lot and gives you control over getting your coffee exactly the way you like it. Cheers!
I have that teapot and agree it makes all the difference for streaming the right amount of water! Looking forward to more Great tips.
Thanks for your input, Lani. Tools make all the difference, huh?!
Coffee mania!! I love it!
Glad you love it! keep watching.
very informative, awesome!!!
Thanks, Thomas!!! Gland you found it helpful
Very informative!
Thanks, Janet! I'm glad you like this one. I try to include as much info as posiible for you to use.
Did you see last video on my channel? 😉
Yes :)
3:00 ristretto is 11 grams of weight outcoming coffee, 4:50 espresso with 18.grams of outcoming coffer (liquid inside the cup). This is a "ristretto" explenation😅 to make perfect coffee with this machine.
Thanks for breaking those times down, Tiziano. Do you have a one touch machine? How do you like to make espresso?
@@tedjones-riverviewcoffeero8060 i have the same machine as yours (Velasca prestige), many years ago i ve started with a wonderful Gaggia Titanium. I use Illy (grains coffee). Now i set grinder something like in the middle, more course because we have high umidity level here. Quantity i prefer like you suggest for espresso also if sometimes i like ristretto as well. Just one question. My coffee are sometimes almost cold even if push the coffee in powder button before to warm more the circuit. And sometimes is also or too much bitter or acid, some suggestion?
@@tiziano316 I would try a little bit lighter roasted coffee. That should help keep it from clumping up and reduce bitterness. How dark is the coffee you're using? Finer ground coffee with a light tan, matte finish should give a really clean cup. We have tons of humidity here too because Central California is also a Medditeranean Climate and I use the finest setting. Always grinds and flows smoothly. Brazilian and Indonesian coffees are both really low in acid and also deeply bodied, even when not roasted very dark. I also would suggest running less water through on your shots. How big are your shots in ounces? If you pull too much flavor out of the coffee it comes out bitter. As far as how hot it comes out I would run a couple shots of just hot water through without putting any grounds in and using the preground function. You can also use a dish drying mat under the unit to insulate it.
@@tedjones-riverviewcoffeero8060 my coffee is illy, one of the best, its not dark and bitter at all usually. Its brown, light brown, not dark, not burned like some bad coffee grains some brands are using to do it... . My grinder is settled around 5 (in the middle or one step close to fine). If i use the smaller one it comes out really slowly, like some drops pour second. Total extraction time is over 30 seconds! 😅 Sorry for my bad english.. I should improve it.. Shame on me!
@@tedjones-riverviewcoffeero8060 don't worry i use ⅓ of a illy cup for espresso, typical cup for espresso. Maybe just a little bit over one third... But not so much. Never even close to half a cup. I like short and intense taste, creamy, not like water
I have the same machine. Coffee with this machine is awesome, like bar(Illy). I am in the city of Illy coffee and i work just 200 mt close to where this coffee is produced. Btw your video is flipped horizontally
That's really cool. Neat to be in the heartland of Italian Coffee. It's a great machine. Yeah, that was my first one
Informative video! We've been long-time customers of Ted. His coffee is divine and highly recommended!!!
Glad you liked it, Amie! There are many gems of information in these videos and I love sharing it with people. Which way is your favorite to brew coffee?
