    What a waste!They should have invested money in a park with tree canopies for a shade, blooming flowers, maybe small artificial water springs for birds, etc. At least it would be more environmentally sound, more family friendly on a hot day, and walking under tree shades are always better on a hot day than being next to the water under the strong sun.

    • @DADoESofTX
      @DADoESofTX Před hodinou

      @@BRISTOLFORCE2009 The primary problem with oversizing is that the system cools too fast and doesn't lower the indoor humidity to a comfortable level. The only aspect of oversizing that may lead to a slightly shorter service life is the system turning on/off/on/off more often. Frequent startups are considered to be a smidgen more stressful on the compressor than running for longer periods. My house had an oversized system (5 tons, 60,000 BTU/hr capacity). It was replaced at 18 years when the indoor coil developed a refrigerant leak, which has no relation to oversizing.

But hey at least the rich bastards have green grass.!

    This is the most tempting thing I've ever seen in such a hot place. What a waste of money and resources. Even recycling the water, there is still going to be evaporation. Not to mention what it must cost to run per year. It looks like something you'd see in a water park, but way more dangerous with those steps. All I can think of is 1# Who made bank for this? 2# What high dollar businesses is this near for them to enjoy during lunch on taxpayer dime? 3# Who in their right mind would design this terribly tempting monstrosity?

      Lowering the thermostat won't help if the unit can't keep up with the heat load. Air conditioners move heat from inside the house to the outdoors. The BTU capacity rating is the amount heat it can move in one hour of time. The indoor temperature will rise if there's heat coming in faster (due to higher outdoor temperatures) than the system can remove it. The only solutions are 1) blocking the heat from coming in via more insulation, sealing air leaks, etc. or 2) installing a larger capacity system such as 42,000 or 48,000 BTU instead of 36,000 BTU or whatever.

    He explained this wrong. Pretty much every air conditioning/cooling system available, cools the air going into the blower/coil section by 20 degrees +/- 3 degrees. It’s 110+ degrees here in phoenix and homes with leaky/weak insulation, windows, etc. are keeping comfortable at 78 with usually affordable utility bills. Most units have undersized duct work and need more return air to keep static pressures down and CFM delivery up and maintenance is huge too We do have a dryer heat but we do get humidity and humidity in a lot of homes too. And I’m talking in Fahrenheit, not Celsius or Kelvin.
