    I'm so curious what you wore after surgery that didn't tug or pinch? Your journey is so helpful, thank you for sharing

    What is the highest post void residual you ever had in a bladder scan?

    thet diagnosed you with a neurogenic bladder? this is due to nerve or muscle?

      They diagnosed with neurogenic bladder most likely due to nerve but they aren’t 100% sure what’s causing it.

      @@HopeTempleman I think this is my moms problem is a nerve issue, she can void but always has a 200ml residual that needs to come out with a catheter. Was your nerve damage due to a surgery? do you know if is a muscle problem will interstim work as well?

      Stage 1 wasn’t fun but it’s 100% worth to follow through and get the 2nd stage done. The pain does improve very quickly with time.

    Can you say you are peeing like a normal person after interstim ?

    • @HopeTempleman
      @HopeTempleman Před 9 měsíci

      Yes it took some adjustment but that’s the great part is that there a multiple settings and programs to work with. Since it was put in, I rarely get a UTI and haven’t used one catheter.

  • @pilarcanalizo

    Did it worked for you for urine retention my urodinamic test Sayed my esphinter doesn't relax properly I don't know if it's the same with you. Thank you

      @HopeTempleman Před 2 lety

      It was a life saver for me and still works amazing over a year later! I don’t exactly remember what my urodynamics test showed except I literally wasn’t emptying at all. I would always end up in the hospital when I had even a simple UTI because it would lead straight to sepsis. Since the InterStim, I rarely get a UTI and can go with no issues!

      It’s now been 2 years and it’s still working very well just having to adjust the programs every so often but otherwise it’s been great! I don’t get UTI’s anymore which has been amazing!

    • @HopeTempleman
      @HopeTempleman Před 9 měsíci

      That totally depends on insurance you just have to check with the hospital you’ll have it done with and they give you an estimate

    • @HopeTempleman
      @HopeTempleman Před 2 lety

      Yes so it’s been almost a full year since I’ve had the actual InterStim in place. It did take me a few months to get the right setting but now it works great. I still get some UTI’s but not nearly the amount I was getting because now I don’t have to self-cath anymore 🙌 I’m so happy with it and mine will stay in place for 15 years!

      @@HopeTempleman Hi my mom is 69 and now using 6 catheters a day and lots of Utis she is on antibiotics evry day. Where did you have this done? Are you still doing okay with you implant? No issues?

    • @HopeTempleman
      @HopeTempleman Před 9 měsíci

      @@andrecancol that used to be me. I was constantly hospitalized for UTI’s that quickly became serious infections requiring IV antibiotics. I had this done at a hospital I live close to in Charleston, SC. It was life changing for me and my quality of life has definitely improved drastically since having it put in. It took some adjustment the first 6 months because you have to figure out which program works best for you. But even in that time period I was still peeing like normal and once we got it figured out I haven’t used a single catheter. I rarely get a UTI which is incredible. I do recommend looking into it, it’s very expensive but it has 100% been worth it for me!

      @@HopeTempleman thank you so much for your reply. How long have you had it? Do you know approximately how much it costs?. Would you mind sharing what kind/reference of implant you have ,is it rechagable? I know there are different types of this implant just wondering which one you have? Do you mind sharing the urologist name please? My sister lives in Georgia Atlanta so we might go to USA to get it done. We live in Canada we have public/government funded health care here so it is imposible to get a private urologist to do it here, there is only one that can do it but waiting is about 2 years. My mom was normal up until August of this year after her pelvic surgery reconstruction she was left with 6 catheters a day, many UTIs she is on antibiotics every single day. Any more information you can provide much appreciated hospital name and urologist name. I want to make sure she gets a very good urologist do to this procedure.
