"The last idiot is not born yet" people told me, when I announced that I wanted to sail to the Mediterranean in a 17 ft. tiny speedboat. But am I really the last idiot?
My name is Thomas Veber and I have crossed oceans in sailboats, explored Scandinavian fjords and anchored in tropical waters, but now I want to prove that you can get as big adventures in a tiny boat from the '70es as you can in an expensive yacht. Follow my trip on the waterways in Europe to the Mediterranean.

#10 Trailerboat adventure through Eastern Europe
The joy of a trailerboat is that you can quickly go to the place you want to explore and quickly return home.
When we return home from the Danube, we tow "Mini Lisa" through Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland, using it as a caravan. This is a bonus on our trip we did not expect, and another plus to the little boat!

Mine bøger er skrevet på dansk og oversat til svensk og engelsk. Tidligere lavede vi film på alle sprog fordi jeg gerne ville nå ud til alle læsere. Men det er simpelthen for stort et arbejde - selvom det er sjovt at lave filmene, så tager det enormt lang tid. Heldigvis er det jo Mathilda som laver dem nu, men der er også grænser for hendes kapacitet 😀

What is wrong 30 ys after the war on 1:50 ? Be kind, explain me . Only thing I can see it's regular Yugoslavia building that you can find everywhere from Slovenia to Macedonia.
What we saw, and tried to show, were the scars in the houses after the war. Houses with holes, the bombed water tower etc. It really touched us 😢
Chased by the police, attacked by mosquitoes… this is a terrifying ordeal!

That cheese biscuit is called pogácsa. It's actually not my favorite either, it's quite dry indeed. The one with the cottage cheese is called túrós batyu. Are there any plans to release these books in english?

Inspiring video 😊. Can i ask when in france did you need anything apart from vignette & insurance? I came across a CEVNI test & licence and also an ICC. International certificate of competence. Its just these that are holding me back. My boat is 5m + 5hp so also seem exempt from charges.
Yes, you need the CEVNI-certificate, but it is very easy to take the test. And yes, there is an exempt, but I don't remember if it is at 5 hp?

I have been trying to check up on documentation needed to use my small boat on french waterways. It mentions both ICC & CEVNI. Have you ever been asked for either? Obviously i need to buy a VNF licence. Thanks for help.
In France, I have never shown it, but several times in Germany and also once in Hungary this time.

In 1988 I was on a 4-week solo cruise of the French canals and rivers. I made it to the Belgian border, turned around and was stuck at the lock at Fumay for 3 days due to flooding on the Meuse. It looked very much like the lock at 3:52. Finally a peniche captain took pity on me and let me tie off to his boat while we successfully fought the current upstream to calmer waters.
When you get an english version published i will buy it !! 😊

Love this!! I have a similar 4.85mtr boat in the UK & taken it all over the country on rivers and on the sea a little. Would love to venture into Europe but i thought it maybe complicated towing with old trailer. We have a Bivi Loo fold up toilet though that helps a lot. (Just lines with bin bags)
It's a lot of fun with a little boat 😀 We have had no problems whatsoever towing the boat around Europe.

Is it posible to cross baltic see, with this boat? What permits do you need when crossing?
Depending where you want to cross, but e.g. from Germany to Denmark it would take 1 hour, so on a good summer's day with little wind, yes.
The certificates on the sea is dependent on the flag of the boat. When the boat is Swedish, and sailed by a Swede, no certificates are needed. For Danish flagged boats, you would need a simple certificate. I don't know how it is for other countries...

I completely understand that,@@leeneeslynys774 . My next project was originally the Nemas River on the border between Russia and Lithuania. But I am afraid what will happen if I accidentially get into Russian waters. So now it will be Donau instead.
