Thank you for going over all the cons of NB. I'm moving with my partner there in less than a month to join his family. We are very worried about healthcare as he has some minor reoccurring health issues, but it's been difficult for him to get anything done about it in Ontario anyway. His parents who are hitting retirement age don't seem worried so I assume they have some sort of plan in mind with dealing with healthcare stuff.... Also in regards to homelessness and crime, when we went to visit Moncton to look at houses 2 months ago, honestly compared to what we had to deal with in our home city in Ontario...it was pretty minor. BUT I can understand for people who have lived here their whole lives how jarring of a change it would have been to see the increase of problems. My partner and I both realize we are in very privileged positions to be able to move to your lovely city with decent paying WFH jobs that allow us to be able to afford a house(Housing prices in or current town in Ontario are double!). We hope once we move and try to integrate into the community that we will be welcomed and make some live-long friendships. <3

Unless I missed it, but you didn't mention that Moncton is a bilingual city and you should know that moving from out of province. If you are looking at the job market, it's not going to be easy - though not impossible - to find a good paying job if you are not bilingual. Of course, it's going to depend a lot on where in the city you live and what types of jobs you're looking for, but I think you really need some French in order to live well in Moncton. I'd be interested if readers agree or disagree?

I like moncton but there are so few jobs with more then 25$/hour. Cost of living and rent are high. So difficult to make saving and to buy a house. Everywhere in Canada is about the same conditions. Good luck for everyone🎉

We lived in Moncton for 2 years now. For myself the biggest con for Moncton is that it is not very friendly. We moved from a city in Ontario to a lovely rural village. We met many people with the famous Maritimes friendliness. But I missed city life and that's how we ended up in Moncton. We have not met anyone here even though we live in a beautiful neighborhood.

Remember these people are realtors they want you to buy...sadly rent here is very high, home cost have gone up drastically, crime and homeless though the roof, jobs are very very difficult to find. Please do your true research before coming here. Yes its beautiful but it is not a heaven they say.

With all the influx of people moving to Moncton, it really effed up the cost of real estate, increased crime and homelessness. It was much better in 2019.

Please remember these are realtors. (understand there motives for making videos like this). No one born here can afford a house anymore due to low wages and inflated prices. Also, you will wait years to get a family doctor. 14+ hour wait time at the ER if you're lucky...If you don't speak French it will be extremely hard to find a decent job as this is a bilingual province, also we have the highest tax rates in Canada... Drug use, homelessness and crime has increased everywhere. Ridiculous in Ottawa since Covid. Can't find a family doctor in Ontario either. Even difficult to get an appointment at a clinic and no follow up. Housing is a problem mostly everywhere. Tons of new buildings in Moncton. Am impressed. Our Ottawa municipal taxes are just as high.
