Shadow and bone is a great series, I want to read all of the books in the grishaverse (I have six of crows already) but I need to read it again.
Question for those of you that read the books!! I’m a non reader of shadow and bone but after watching it on Netflix I really want to read the series. I know there’s the shadow and bones trilogy and the 6 of crows duology. Which is best to start with? Tbh I enjoyed kaz, inej and jespers storyline more in the show
If you like their storyline more read six of crows first, you'll understand the grisha verse. I too read six of crows first, now I'm reading shadow and bone triplogy

the darkling: i use the Cut only for the most formidable of enemies also the darkling: *uses the cut on a seventeen year old with a flash bomb*
and loses.
To be fair, Kaz is formidable in his own right. He may not have powet or strength, but he is very smart. His sharp observance skills plus his meticulous ability to have plans among plans make him a formidable opponant. He doesn't rely on his power if he were to have any or any force unless necessary. Kaz prefers to use his brain more then most. Everything else is mostly a last resort. Not to mention he is good at reading people. He knows how prideful the Darkling is and goads him. That's how he got away.
Well that lines line? I bet what they said towards the end of Crooked Kingdom as well. Thanks for asking, I'm fine 😭.

That scene between the darkling and kaz was just epic I hope they get another scene like that because it was badass like kaz just vanished and escaped the darkling like it was nothing I loved it

those who decided to give the series a try coz they read the Shadow and Bone but....stayed for the Six of Crows (though only three of them are getting screen time and honestly those three are enough to take on the entire Ravaka and even have a chance of winning)......... those are the ones who don't care about Alina, Mal or the Darkling, we only need our baby crows in a different near impossible heist..... Also can't wait for Nikolai....(the only favorite character of mine from the entire Shadow and Bone series).....

I’m glad they aged up the characters a little, makes their struggles and gains in their lives up til now more legit to believe. Kaz being 20-21 and moved up to sassy leader of a club after 6 odd years :)

especially bc according to the books wouldnt he be like 15 during sab? bc hes 17 in soc and this is like two years earlier.

Idk the term for it but he has a fear of human touch based on childhood trauma, it's why he wears gloves and that still doesn't make him not despise touching people

@@ghoulonfrightube you have to omg they are soo good and there are so many little references in the show only people have read the books get. Once you read them rewatch the show it will be a whole new experience 😍
@@olympia7714 yeah I want to reread the books and then rewatch the show. There are a couple flaws with Kaz’s on-screen counterpart, but otherwise I’m incredibly happy with the casting (Jes could be a bit taller and Matthias blond, but not much you can do about it, so eh) God, I can’t wait for Wylan, he’s easily one of my all time favorite characters
@@Hi-wu1se YESS I'm so excited for Wylan aswell watching the rest of the crows and not him was heartbreaking 😭 About the Kaz thing I felt that way too when I first watched it but the I saw some people comment that it's because the crows storyline is a prequel to SOC so his character hasn't developed yet to what it is in the books. But I completely agree some stuff that he did felt very off character for him!
@@olympia7714 I mean, based on the show there’s about a year-ish gap between the end of season one and the start of the SoC timeline when they break Matthias out of Hellgate. What surprised me most was actually liking Matthias’ character, and then I realized that it was because this was pre-Hellgate/trauma/betrayal Matthias, and his character development goes miles beyond expectation in the books, so I can’t wait to see his representation on screen
