During the 70's I'd visit a friend of mine who operated an oilfield battery site on the western slope of the Alberta Rockies. He told me then that "fossil fuel" was not an accurate term. He said oil was the product some kind of a natural process, deep within the Earth, over time. Hydrocarbons is what they should be called.

I, for one, have never seen oil leeching out of a fossil. It does however leech out of living things. Your face is covered in it. Your hair drips it. Plants produce lots of oil. Olive oil, corn oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, pine sap has oil, fish make oil. Whales make oil. Oil is 100 percent a renewable resource. It is not a limited amount. That is a lie. Oil does not come from fossils.
