yes like i said it was a big trade to get this schwinn tiger. but a really well preserved bike,although a few issues i can correct and make more original.

awesome was wondering how the parts search/build was progressing. the super sport did well on the rough stuff,i think i should have raised the seat a bit.i am always used to schwinn cruisers and not having proper leg extension that it seemed normal.was challenging to ride a fixed gear and film with the go pro and deal with other folks on the trail,but it worked ok next time i think i will go at an earlier time so as to not deal with so many folks on the trail. yes maybe someone has a sky blue fork with chrome tips,i think i will make some parts request videos haha.cant wait to see part 1 of the superior build😃😃

@@faulknerfixesall Nice! yes I noticed the people on the trail that kindly moved out of your way, good thing you did not try to pass a Karen🤣🤣That would have been a viral video. I found a few parts so far, and had my eye on a pair of period correct Weinman alloy wheels with the large flange and correct slots. It was listed for $120 plus $66 shipping, then he went to $110 and I waited one day too long and they sold😪 I will keep looking👀

@@that70sschwinn oh man the Weinman rims would have been really correct,they are such nice quality on any Schwinn ,yes some folks move out of the way and i am very polite especially when i dont have bell or buzzer on the bike. there was some other mountain bikers going way to fast for the crowded conditions.but i am only in charge of my riding courtesy.hope you are doing well

I agree the soundtrack really ties it all together.i worked on the truck today but was too hot and sticky to even think about a video.I did however fire the engine and that part of the repair sounded good although i only let it run for a few seconds. thanx mike you always have good things to say.😃

thanx brett ,my dad made me work on baja bugs and 2 wheel drive race trucks when i was 12 there really was no option i had to help him in the shop after school or go to my room haha. but i am glad now that he taught me.

there is a seller on ebay called bicycle heaven-the tires are $34 each and shipping is $11.40. you might look around for a better deal but i did and they were the cheapest make sure you have the s5 or s6 rims before you buy the schwinn rims are an ISO size of 597 if you dont have schwinn rims then you can use the standard 26x 1 3/8 non schwinn sizes good luck and keep the old schwinns on the road

well the girls frame schwinn are not great sellers but sometimes when they are in good shape and rare color like opaque green ,opaque blue and maybe kool lemon the bikes can sell for $200 if its a stingray in good shape maybe more.i am 6 foot1" and this bike is a 19" frame so yes its too small ,you can see when i am pedaling my legs are not even close to getting full extension.go to facebook market place and type in the search field schwinn and then you can select the area like asheville nc it should pop up.thanx for watching!

sad to say i just sold it to a older guy in Georgia he called and said he is happy with the way runs but is bringing it to a local body shop asap. kinda happy about some else working on the truck

yes the head badge is stamped 3296 -the 329th day of 1976? sounds about right for the safety stuff to be mandatory ,those geeky square reflectors are really lame and i consider the fender mounted rear ones actually dangerous against your leg when they get broken.

Thank you for the comment-I try to steer people in the right direction about old Schwinns and there are lots of reproduction parts out there that just dont have the quality of the originals. I promise to keep "dropping the nuggets" haha

prices are insane on vintage schwinn and wald racks. yes the spring loaded front ones are super useful.

@@faulknerfixesall hard to say, it's like 5/8" wide by 5/16" fencing material with the center a little concave. A picture would show you better but it's not flat.

Thank you -i thought i would share a little about the opaque blue Schwinns and the tires seem to be a good fit and not too flashy.

these opaque green ss are so hard to find nowadays.was it just an unpopular color when new? how many years was opaque green offered?

@@faulknerfixesall The Opaque Green was introduced in 1972 and only offered on the Super Sport, Sports Tourer and all the Paramount models. In 1973 it was only offered on the 1973 Panasonic plant World Traveler and in 1974 it was only offered on the Paramount. So they are hard to find based on production numbers. I have a 1 year White Varsity, only offered in 1970. I saw it listed on the 1970 catalog and realized I had never seen one, so I searched for 2 years and finally found one with chrome fenders. The 1976 Bicentennial Varsity was white also with red white and blue decals, they came in his and hers models.

@@that70sschwinn thank you for the info-i didnt realize it was offered on the paramounts as well.my buddy has a white ladies suburban with the black head badge and black pinstripes on the fenders i always thought that was rare just because thats the only one i have ever seen,most likely a 1970 suburban.

@@faulknerfixesall Yes, that is definitely a 1970 Suburban, the Black head badge is correct, white was only offered on the Varsity, Suburban, Paramount and the 1970 Cotton Picker. It was Schwinn's 75 Year Diamond Jubilee celebration.

@@that70sschwinn that makes sense at one point in time i offered him $100 and a running campus green mans suburban 5 speed and he said "no way" i pressured him saying that he looked goofy riding a ladies frame bike that was a bit too small for him. it didnt work i guess he knew it was a rare color.thanx you are a wealth of knowledge.opaque blue walkaround coming soon.
