Good informative info. I owned a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 , 2 door hardtop with 245 HP 312 engine, Ford- o -Matic , power steering . Did not have Air, power Brakes, electric windows. I really liked this car & it would run. Outran many Chevys, & Pontiacs, which were the most popular "HOT" cars of that day. One engine this guy & many others miss, was a 312 with higher compression, 2 fours , & hotter cam, rated @ 285 HP. In July 2024 I will be 86 years old. I f it were possible I would choose to go back in time to the 1950'S . Good years, good people !

I was in NOLA in '84 on a business trip. My wife called me one morning and said she had just seen a chef on Good Morning America and I should check out his restaurant. That was the day Paul Prudhomme was first introduced to a national audience. I found "K-Paul's Kitchen" down a side street. Not a hole in the wall, but not the Savoy either. Prudehomme was there looking every but like Dom DeLuise. There was maybe a handful of customers at that point. I had shrimp etouffee. It was really good. Prudehomme himself was very nice and signed a menu for my wife (his first experience with fame I suppose). I make his red beans and rice with andouille from time to time.

Love that big block with the open headers. I had a 68 Mustang with a 428SCJ 4-speed and open Hooker Super Comp headers. Just a 24 inch collector slipped on the back. That was my drag racing car. I loved the sound. When you dumped the throttle in 4th and were coasting down it just sounded angry. I wish I could have seen the real stock cars running.

He was the best I love watching him growing up. My dad would always watch this show with us and remind us of our Creole heritage from my mother rest in peace, Paul.
