What a total load of crap. My only suggestion is for you to move to Australia as there is 'NOTHING" like this crap here. BUT there is one caveat you must adhere to.. No carp of any size is to be returned to any water for any reason. They do make exceptional compost though.

I fish this river myself, and have had the same issue with them cutting the weed and it completely ruins the fishing, not sure why they do it as it doesn’t really benefit the river to cut the weed. On a good day though the river produces class fish, I’ve had double figure barbel and perch to 2lb plus as well as 5lb chub

The river test is the clearest river in the UK check out the chalk streams of Wiltshire and Hampshire. Far superior clearer water compaired to that river.

Never walk downriver as the vibrations can scare the fish below you, always fish against the current as the vibrations will carry away from the fish you're looking for :)

In lakes, if you are allowed to fish with live baits and want to, you can also offer the bait so that it is on the surface almost all the time, which of course creates a lot of noise and attracts catfish. However, this only works at night and in shallow places. But then you have to be aware that the fish doesn't just live with one or two hooks in its body, but is scared to death all the time as it naturally tries to escape...

Spam may be okay. But the best are squid from the freezer. Preferably with tentacles. You let them freeze and then leave them in the sun for half a day until they really stink. This is how my guide friends from Spain and other friends regularly catch very large catfish. They love it. A bundle of dewworms is best. The leader is simple. At the end of it a large circle hook with warmer and tentacles and about 15 cm above a treble hook on which the rest of the squid and warmer are placed. The squid attracts the catfish with its smell and the worms with vibrations that the catfish can detect very well with their lateral line organ. In the river in front of it is an underwater target that stands in the current and again emits vibrations. I regularly catch catfish with it. From small to 2.26 (my PB on natural bait). F**k them hate people like that they ruin it for new fishers and put people off the sport by being stuck up arses i dont get how they think that is okay! Do they want to keep the sport going and having new young sports men taking it up? They must just want to keep it all to there self or they might just be drunk with power as they saying goes give a man power and he will soon show his true character.
