Elvis does not sound Drugged up. he sounds totally normal! it kind of disproves the book and shows that Elvis was not out of control like they said in the book. Elvis is very in control and is having a conversation with his friend and shows that he cares for Red and his family, Red however chose to record the conversation and I think he was going to use it against Elvis if the conversation went another way. Elvis would have never turned his back on Red or Sonny had he lived, he was a compassionate man. Dave had only worked for Elvis for 2 years and when he was fired he went to Elvis's house in California with a gun!!! I think Dave was an out of control nut and needed to be fired, he did a current interview and you can still see that he has an out of control temper about it even now.

Elvis was a forgiving man, He was betrayed by these guys after they were let go. He was being sued because of these guys getting into a fight. It is normal for an employer to fire people that cause a lawsuit, it helps settle the lawsuit because there has to be shown in court hat you have taken action, these guys may have been hired back after the lawsuits were settled but they saw fit to stab Elvis in the back and write the book, The publisher chose to make up things and add to the stories that Red. Sonny and Dave had told them. Dave in a recent interview said that they didnt hardly use a single word in the book that they had told the publisher, most was written by the publishers people and it was all done to sell books not to tell the true story!

I read Sunny West book in 2007 and basically sunny red and Dave each got what’s equivalent to the year 2024 money $300,000 each to write about Elvis Presley‘s bad habits so they weren’t trying to save him. They weren’t trying to protect him they did it for the money they were bitter. They lost their job. They were friends with himfor 15 years and told all his secrets and they contributed to his death there’s no other way around it. You’re trying to tell me Elvis was going to read the book and say oh I’m gonna get better now no he’s gonna be embarrassed and he’s gonna go further into drugs, so they basically killed Elvis.

I listened to this whole conversation and if you take in consideration only west knew this conversation was being recorded just such a betrayal by west to even call Elvis his friend because a friend wouldn’t secretly record you! It was hard to make out the conversation but what I did hear was west try and guilt trip Elvis over him being let go. Back than a body guard was paid $225 a week these guys were being paid $450 a week not to mention we all know how Elvis gave all his family and friends expensive gifts. Elvis’s manager got half his earnings so Elvis basically worked and than gave it all away the problem with being a giver the taker expects it all the time. These bodyguards are mad so this is how they repay Elvis - they knew Elvis enough to know that his fans were his world his whole life had been built around his fans. I read that Elvis got the manuscript 6 months before he died he felt deeply betrayed and angered he pleaded with the publishers not to put out the book he offered a huge amount of money but no these guys figured out a way to make money off Elvis and destroy him in the process! Elvis said to west at the end of the conversation if you need anything just call and west says my wife will be happy to hear that because you hurt her Elvis and my kids grrrr he guilt tripped Elvis! I don’t believe they wrote the book over his prescription problem that’s just a cover up to make them look like good pals. Elvis was in his 40s what did these guys expect he gave them 20 years! Like Elvis said at the end of this conversation when west was coming down hard on him. Don’t judge a man you haven’t walked in his shoes. Most of this conversation West talked about money and how he had to sell his house and 2 cars. I believe Elvis died 10 days after this book was released he told his dad and step brother how he was ashamed to step on stage. Just knowing the hurt and betrayal Elvis felt at the end of his life I’m sure Elvis felt so alone. Later west said he wished he’d never wrote the book - Elvis didn’t deserve this type of betrayal - Priscilla is another example of how money is more important than loyalty. Sad
